CARs for the AME

Post by bfraser »

I will be updating CARs for the AME with some new questions in 2007. I have spoken to a person who just wrote - he got 92%. I think all of the advice here makes perfect sense and there is not much to add - the best way to pass is to know the material very well, and not to let the wording, etc. throw you off.

Study whatever you have available, and stay away from the online exams. The ones I have seen are full of mistakes.
Best of luck!

Thanks, Bill Fraser

Your book is by far the best resource for an AME apprentice trying to pass CARS.

I've recommended it to every apprentice I've dealt with.

You do a very positive service for AME's.

Congrats.

THE ak-47 on CARS doctrine. Covers it all. Read, learn and understand, and you will be well equipped to handle the CARS exam.

Studying CARS is stupor inducing boredom. Fraser makes it suck a lot less.

cheers & good luck

I have not met one person that has a bad thing to say about this book.
It's well written, by an AME for AME's. That makes a big difference.
I used the book to study, (due to actually being one of BFraser's students) and always recommend it to new apprentoids on their way to being licensed.

Keep up the great work Bill.

Hey Bill,
Thanks for going to the effort to put together something that makes sense of CARS. I'm writing shortly to renew my expired licence. I last wrote 11 or 12 years ago and your book was a godsend then too.

Any chance you can get TC's M&M guys to read it so they understand CAR's?

It is simply unacceptable for any country to have a regulator that designs a set of regulations that are written so sloppy that their own government regulation inspectors can not agree on what they really mean.

Not to mention they can point blank over ride a regulation if it fits their agenda at any given time.

I know having been at the receiving end of TC's goons who actually wrote to me clearly stating that I met the requirements of a CAR and then a few months later refusing me an approval because I did not meet the very regulation that they had confirmed I had met in writing from the regional manager of M&M.....

Incredible and there was not a thing I nor my lawyer could do as they were supported right up to the level of Don Sherritt and then Merlin Preuss...

You people are being regulated by dictatorship not rule of law.

CAR's do not evem make for good ass wipe because they can be interpeted to mean whatever suits TC's agenda.

tellyourkids......

........just imagine if we had a clearly written set of regulations that covered the necessary rules of maintenance and flying without all these paper positions in companies that are like death by a thousand cuts for companies trying to keep pace with TC's paper work requirements.....

.....can you imagine the benefit to safety if highly skilled engineers were spending their time working on the aircraft instead of covering TC's ass with paper work?....

.....aaahhhhhh....it just makes to much sense so it will never happen.

Yep.

It's too bad a book is even needed, but Bill's is the best. Concise and clear.

Just how does one aquire Bill Fraser's book on CAR's?
I am just retiring from the military and am in the midst of untangling my qualifications with T.C.

Cheers

I picked mine up at Aviation World in Toronto. You could order it from them, or if you're out of range pm Bill himself. He mentions an address in the front to send money to acquire his book if memory serves me correctly.

Ordering a CARs book

Post by bfraser »

Hi:

You can contact me at navion@shaw.ca to order a book. It involves sending a cheque, etc. I'm setting up a website that will accept credit cards - it should be ready in a few weeks to a month.

Thanks, Bill Fraser

No date yet

Post by bfraser »

I guess I'm a little behind - I don't think it will be anytime soon. I'm not going to make any more predictions. I have a new website carsfortheame.com if anyone is interested.

Thanks, Bill Fraser
