re-writing passed section on CPAER

Post by 767 »

hey folks, well transport has fooled me for the first time ever on my commercial written.. i ended up getting a partial pass, i dont know wtf happened. anyways, i have to re-write the nav part again in 2 weeks, however, i got a low mark on the GEN section, although i passed it, im wondering if its possible to re-write the Gen section again to upgrade my mark... there is no info on TC website, other than re-writing a failed section. any help would be appreciated, thanks. :D oh and the air law and met went very well, i was pleased.

Why on earth would you want to re-write a passed section. :smt075

"P" for passed, once you have the "P" move on, nobody cares if you get 100% or 60% as long as you pass.

You should be able to re-write the section if you wish I am sure though you will have a hard time convincing them as to why you are requsting this.

Man won't you be kicking yourself if you re-write a passed section and then fail. :smt075

I havn't seen a license yet that states "Commercial; Single-Engine Non-High performance; land and sea that generally only knows 62%, and can only Navigate 74% of the time "... so on and so forth.

As it was stated a Pass is a Pass. TC exams are more so a literacy test. Not saying shoot for the bare minimums though....

The answer to your question is NO.

Transport Canada will not allow you to re-take any exam or part of an exam that you have already passed. The only way this could be accomplished is if the exam time frame lapses.

For example, you write a the exam to upgrade to a Class 2 instructor rating, but then you don't acquire the necessary flight experience within 2 years. You would then re-write the exam if 2 years had passed.

If it was possible to rewrite, you'd see ATPL qualified people writing PPL or CPL exams simply to gain insight into what's on those exams for the purpose of creating and selling exam prep material.

A pass is a pass... Just get the rest done and it will still say comercial pilot just like the rest.

Congrats on the rest of the items passed... what was it in Nav if you don't mind me asking

it was just the wording that fooled me, there was something hidden in every question. i think i missed some steps when i was calculating, etc. it was starnge becuase when i walked out i thought that met was the hardest, and nav was simple.. and guess what, i got 80 in met, and 51 in nav.. :?
