The Seneca I vs the Seneca II

Post by Justwannafly »

Anyone know these 2 aircraft well enouph to tell me what the advantages of each are? I know the Seneca II is suposed to handle better & has a bit more power, but I though that the big difference between the 2 was that the II had boots......BUT then today I saw a II without boots & so now I'm a wee bit confused/curious.

Both can be equipped with boots. Do you want to fly IFR year round?

As skyboy said. Same airframe different engines...

The 1 was the original. Lycoming IO-360's @ 200 H.P a piece. Non turbo. One Engine Inoperative performance is very poor but the engines are bulletproof. Same engines as the Cherokee Arrow times two. Airframe is a retractable Cherokee Six with two engines. Decent piece of shit airplane without enough power to pull a sick whore off a piss pot. the Seneca 2 has Continental TSIO 360's @ 200 H.P. a piece. Same engines as a Cessna 337 Push Pull derated to 200 H.P. which improves OEI performance. It wil now pull that sick old whore off the piss pot provided she is drunk and a bit wobbley. A nice cabin with a lot of room and a decent flying airplane but watch the weight and balance. It gets wierd. Piper built a ton of the suckers so lots of choice and lots of parts. Just remember that one engine inoperative performance is not a legal certification requirement so read the AFM and if one quits in a tight spot, consider it a single. Know AFM performance and do not do something stupid, quickly.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

The I's are lighter too are they not?

If I remember right (have been around both) that the II's are a bit easier to handle at approach speeds.. whereas the I's are like a rock in water..
