Anyone know if the 172 is in Lake st. John Again? Future Air I believe. Were they even in last year? Its been a while since Ive been up there.

The best way to find out is to call the Barrie base. They don't have phone service up at the lake but the instructor calls down to Barrie most days to get messages. You can find the phone number at futureair.com I believe. If that doesn't work PM me. I've got it somewhere I'm sure.

Float training and Rental Less then 40 minutes North of Toronto in Bradford Holland River! It is the plane that was with Future Air in Orillia Last year. I don't think there is anything in Orillia this year? Bradford is so close and when your ready they will rent it to you as well. Instructor great guy and the plane is a great plane. You do have to contact John at Future Air. They have Web sight with the number of the Holland Landing location

These are minimum training requirements as outlined by Transport Canada. Individuals may in some cases exceed these requirements before being recommended for a flight test.

I noticed they have 10 hours for the tailwheel check out with the above comment. Is there now a TC time limit on tail wheel training?

In their aerobatic ad they say you will need two to four hours of tail wheel training to get used to tail wheel airplanes.

Confusing.

The CFI is extremely protective of his citabria (I think mostly because he likes flying upside down himself) and it's based out of a rather unforgiving airport. The kinda place TC doesn't usually let FTUs set up at, so they are very careful to make sure students can handle the kind of erradic winds and airflow that have taken down other a/c at that location in the past.

I'm not trying to scare anyone away from this base. If you learn to fly a tail dragger out of there you'll be a better pilot than if you learn to fly it from a gentler a/p.

yeah holland landing has that nice drop off at the end of the runway leading down to 89. Good to see they have the float plane back in...too bad its not Orillia...lotsa great lakes to fly in close by...any location will do though!
