On Saturday, a plane crashed at the Mayo Airport.
Pilot Richard Rogers, 41, of Mayo, died from his injuries. There were no other passengers in the plane.
RCMP attending the scene found the Dehavilland DH3T Single Otter went down shortly after taking off.
The incident occurred just before 6 p.m.
Police quickly extinguished an engine fire and tended to the injured pilot who later died from his injuries.
The Mayo Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services and local nurses attended the scene.
The Otter was owned by Black Sheep Aviation.
Carmacks RCMP, Transport Canada and the Yukon coroner are investigating the incident. (GK)

My Dad was flying out of McQuestin and said that it was hot and gust winds that day. I guess it crashed right into the ramp, narrowly missing the fuel tanks and some other parked aircraft.
My condonlences to the family and friends and all those in Mayo. I used to live up there and I know it is a small community and it will affect everyone in the village...
