Check your sources. Canadian North does not operate any Dash-8s. There is another operator that operates them on behalf of 5T.

I guess I must be seeing things then... (yes, I know that it's a Regional 1 lease...)

Joe would love to tell you all about his airline’s new Dash 8 Combi aircraft . . . but his team needs him for the face-off.

Was passenger liquids involved; I bet you some terrorist smuggled a 150ml container of toothpaste on board.

Holy crap, this place dumber by the day! Is it really that important about owns/operates the aircraft. The question was asking if anyone had any information on a plane that had an accident. Does anyone?

Well actually it is important. Imagine if a Tier III operator such as Georgian or CMA had an unfortunate incident. What would make an accurate or attention-grabbing headline, "CMA lands without nosegear" or "Air Canada lands without nosegear"?

In this case it appears that there is no headline since , at least up to now, there is no news article 8)

Well, some news services are reporting the incident:

Northern News Services Online - News Briefs
Plane lands without nose gear

A Canadian North flight from Gjoa Haven landed without nose gear at Yellowknife airport Tuesday evening. The Dash 8 aircraft's nose gear did not descend and the plane came in for landing on its back wheels and front fuselage at around 7:30 p.m. Yellowknife Fire Department and the airport's emergency services personnel were dispatched. The plane had been scheduled to continue on to Hay River from Yellowknife, but that flight was cancelled. For photos and full story, see Friday's Yellowknifer.

Plane makes emergency landing at Yellowknife airport

CBC News

A Canadian North passenger plane en route from Gjoa Haven to Cambridge Bay in Nunavut made an emergency landing in Yellowknife early Tuesday evening after its front landing gear did not work.

The pilot decided to fly to Yellowknife when the landing gear would not deploy as the Dash 8 aircraft approached the Cambridge Bay airport, airline spokesman Kelley Kaylo said Wednesday.

The plane travelled the extra 850 kilometres west to Yellowknife because its airport is better equipped to handle emergency landings.

It circled the airport for about 15 minutes, in an attempt to reduce the amount of fuel it had on board, before landing on its belly on an airport runway around 7 p.m.

"The aircraft landed here in Yellowknife on the two main landing gear. The nose gear did not engage," Kaylo said. "And so the aircraft came to a stop where the nose touched down onto the runway."

Kaylo said none of the five passengers or the three crew members on board were injured in the incident.

Everything comes with a disclaimer, ya know...
Transport Canada endeavours to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data contained within CADORS, however, the information within should be treated as preliminary, unsubstantiated and subject to change.
The record indicates that the report is from a Nav Canada AOR so the data may have been incorrectly entered?

I was on the ramp there when it happened, the pilots did a great job. They circled over YK for 15 minutes to burn fuel then came in on the crosswind runway so they wouldn't shut down the active. Glad to hear that everyone was ok, I think every piece of emergency equipment in YK was there to help out.

Ice. Ice was stuck in the forward wheel well (yes it's still winter) preventing the gear from coming down. They flew around for 15 minutes in an attempt to melt the ice. The pilots did do a great job in landing as there was minimal damage done. a/c should be up and running again in no time.

Well done boys! If whats been said is true.. they should be commended for not only a proffesional job and positive outcome.. but for being courteous to all the other operators and AC in taking the non active runway.

Cheers!
