Chibougamau, Quebec

Post by sheephunter »

Any of you guys fly in this area? I am looking for fuel on floats in Chibougamau area. I can't make Mistassini so was wondering if there are any private docks that would sell me fuel on prearranged terms.

I know I have seen planes on a few of those lakes on the way into town from the airport. Even if I could have someone allow me to get a 45 gal drum to sit on or near there dock.

Thanks.

hey,

Call Esso (or whatever it is) at the airport CYMT. There's a lake across the airport where you can get gas from them. I don't know exactly how it works.

cheers

There's a road going down to a lake just off the main strip, so Esso should be able to help. If not, try giving Air Saguenay a call - they have a float base about 5 north. When I was there ~ 3 weeks ago, they were just getting the docks set up for the summer.

Again thanks. I found but am waiting for a call back to confirm that fuel can be purchased at Lake Ledden right near the airport. For anyone interested, that number is (418) 748-4429

As someone already pointed out I think AirSag is your best bet..... They've always sold me fuel when needed, expensive but always in supply... and the owner's daughter is a cute one..... Oups, I usually see her in Schefferville, or Lac Rapid :D
Have a good trip

Easy to get fuel at the airport, just call esso 2 hours before you get there and they will set you up... You can also stop at Barrage Gouin which is about 60 miles south of YMT...

I'm planning to be through there around August 01, but it appears that my ame has my amphibs. working again so I'm not going to need to stop on the water there. But it's nice to know there is the option available. Thanks
