Re: Perimeter
What are you trolling for?
More than one person in history has wiped out on an air stair. President Ford even did it a couple timestofo wrote: heard a story about a passenger falling out of an a/c on to the ramp?
Were they on a medevac?tofo wrote: Heard the passenger died the next day.
It's better to break ground and head into the wind than to break wind and head into the ground.

so if we don't know anything please enlighten.really? the medical report on that one is out already! funny how everyone on here knows so much...
Was that person strapped to a wheel chair transfer device and dropped by two perimeter employees when carrying the passenger up the stairs of the aircraft?

so either you work at perimeter, or you know someone who does... so obviously you can get all the information you need, but maybe we should leave this one alone... If you are trying to smear perimeter, by all means, go ahead, but there are better ways to do it. Many people both family and perimeter staff have been hit hard with this one, and this is the last thing they need to see it on the internet...

Those loading chairs always made me uneasy (beyond just the obvious displeasure at carrying a large, fragrant person)... they're so unstable and wobbly, I always thought they were going to topple, trying to carry larger people. We almost dropped a guy in YSB who'd just come out of surgery and was obviously in a lot of pain... MAN do I ever miss that stuff.

Sure looks like a headline you Shit for Brains. You are without a doubt, AvCanada's equivilant to the National Enquirer. Get a life.
That's not an "incident" it's a tragedy if it's true. I'm sure the person's family doesn't consider it an "incident".have any incedets recently?
Even if it is true, would it be the company's fault? Or would it be the poor bastard who's made the mistake of his life and has probably been puking-sick ever since. Should the company be trashed here by some half-wit who can't even spell? Just looked at your other posts and you were spewing crap about another company's supposed "dodgy maintenance" not long ago.. you didn't seem to offer any proof on that shite in the end either. How's that vendetta against Doc going?
Here's a rumour.. tofo likes to wear girls underwear.. I heard it before, must be true

Taking a person in a wheelchair up or down anything more than one step is asking for an accident.
If you don't have access to a lift (with appropriate railings) use a stretcher and have the training to take it up and down stairs.
If you have the training and there's an anchor point available in the a/c, it's possible to safeguard a wheelchair on a set of stairs with ropes and descenders.
Having no details, it looks like people wanting to be helpful improvised without understanding the hazards involved. The workers involved likely feel every bit as distressed as does the victim's family.

We might learn something from this tradegy .
Some medics will not load anyone over 300 lbs in a No. 9 strecher .
a lot of newbies do not know this and will get a sore back trying to do something that requires six pallbearers instead of two.Nothing worse than watching a patient already in pain bouncing down the stairs .

Then they shouldn't go looking for it by reading this thread. The Internet is a fact of life, and nobody should expect news like this to go unposted.Captain Crunch wrote:Many people both family and perimeter staff have been hit hard with this one, and this is the last thing they need to see it on the internet...
Nobody is forced to read any particular thread, or to visit this web site.

Was someone expecting journalist-quality reporting from an anonymous public-access web site? I feel sorry for someone who would be that naive.floatman wrote:And when the "news" is posted by drunken dip-shit with all the tact of Freddy Kruger.. then people should poke him in the eyeThen they shouldn't go looking for it by reading this thread.
