Kenn Borek Aircraft

Post by kilpicki »

Regarding a post on this board about the number of AC Borek has.

What would be an accurate number of Twin Otters they own? I used to think it was 34 or so but read 50 in a thread but think that number is high.

Id suppose there are more than a few in pieces at their Calgary shop but count them also.

I see they are advertising for Engineers, out of curiosity what is the pay scale now?

According to TC http://www.tc.gc.ca/aviation/activepage ... search.asp
they have 38 aircraft registered in Canada.

Plus the 16 to 20 they have in the maldives, and possibly more on contract around zee world.

They still have the largest fleet of twin otters don't they?

I think we currently have 13 between our bases (not counting Inuvik because I don't know how many we have there) so its possible we have 15 in Canada + anything in YYC on the ramp if any. Add to that the Mali count and I would guess we're up to about 36 +/- Twin Otters.

Throw into that the King Airs, Bandits, and Turbo 3 and I'm thinking 57 total, but thats just a guess.

Cheers,

ETTW

The wikipedia article on Borek has an updated fleet list that should be accurate.

Ettw is likely the most accurate, 15 or 16 domestic, 21-24 international, 2 Bandits, I Basler, 3 99's and skads of kingairs. Dunno how many. Flown them enough.

Borek was the nations third largest carrier in terms of fleet size (AC, JAZZ, Borek, WJ) but was this year passed by WJ. Around 60 AC give or take a few.

You're thinking of Mali, and no, they're not there. He meant Male, the capital of the Maldives.
