Are they hiring yet? Last I heard they'd laid off, hadn't heard if everyone was even back yet.

Skyservice is hiring a few pilots right now, but if you haven't received a call yet, time is running out and you'll need an internal reference.

However, some Skyservice news hot off the press: http://www.canadanewswire.ca/en/release ... c2481.html

rammingspeed,

To answer some of your questions.

There was threat of layoffs last 2 years in a row now but never came to happen. We had a contract under negotiations and was probably the only reason behind them. Right now there are no layoffs. There are some pilots on LOA's. They will run about 22 aircraft this winter. 11 757s and the rest airbus. The hiring they are doing will be for both types I imagine either the 320 or the 757. You will spend some time away from home at various places in Canada and also down south depending on aircraft type you are on. There are no passes or co agreements for travel but I believe they are working on a jumpseat agreement but I am not sure. I am guessing that they will need to hire allot of people this winter as many have left to AC. Deployments are a part of life here at ssv though. With the news about being sold perhaps now will be some expansion but as with anything it would only be a guess. Bases are YYC or YYZ but you will not see a YYC base. It will be for YYZ. Hope this helps.

Days

cs,

We have 11 GDOs a month off. Airbus does more turns down south versus pairings. Boeing you will be away for days at a time. That being said this can change so who knows. Hope this helps.
