Hey...I need help. I got a job at air mikisew on the ground...I still don't know if I should take it or not. I don't wanna get stuck on the ramp for more than a year. I know the industry is moving right now but I still don't know If I shoud go or take the instructor course....

any suggestions would be great....

Air Mikisew is a great gig, know a few guys who went there, fast time onto the Ho, and then on to the Jetstream 31, i wouldn't worry about getting stuck on the ground for too long there. Go for it

have to agree with B-rad on this one. Things are booming in the industry right now for pilots, but things certainly aren't booming at Mikisew. There are lots of other outfits you could go to where you'd be flying much quicker, before things take a down turn. McMurray is a very expensive place to live and I don't believe the compensation for entry level pilots is very good considering that.

Know what you're talking about before shooting your mouth off, people. By September, they will have put 8 ground personnel onto the flight line in the last year, and there are less than that right now waiting to go. The only people hired from the outside are usually medevac captains, and only when somebody is needed quickly.

I love it when you put up posts about things you have no clue about; it's always good for a chuckle. Actually, one reason there are so few pilots on the ground as compared with the past is because they've been hiring non-pilots for many ground positions for 6 months now.

Lol. Wow. That's a blast from the past. I remember writing that thread like it was yesterday. When I was a 200 hour wonder out of flight school. Yeah I ended up turning down the job, and later found a better entry level pilot job which all worked out in the end. Good times.
