problem with my computer?

Post by DFione1 »

Hey folks, just thought I'd ask everybody. Recently, after reading a topic I have to hit the back button 3 or 4 times before i get back to the index. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if it may just be my computer.

I noticed this happening as well about two days ago.

Hopefully the webmaster sees this post and fixes the problem soon.

One click "back" removes a side advertisment. Second click removes another ad, third click goes back one page...Avcanada?

One question: are you all using Internet Explorer?

I'm using Firefox and haven't had this issue.

Goodbye,

If you use your drop-down menu beside your back/forward button (on IE), you can see that it's google advertising, specifically pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pa

I've blocked most of these ads with zone alarm, but I still have to click 'back' numerous times.

Best thing is to scroll to the very top or bottom of the post you're reading and click on the link to the forum you want.

e.g.

AVCANADA Forum Index -> General Comments (Canada)

Click AVCANADA Forum Index will take you to the main list and General Comments (Canada) will take you the the root of this one.

Oh yeah, and the plus for doing that is the site updates which topics you've read/visited.

Interesting I'll see if I can come up with a fix.

This problem doesn't exist with Firefox.

For all the people with Macs:

When I sit down to use a Mac, the first thing I think is, "I hate Macs", and then I think, "Why has this rubbish aspirational ornament only got one mouse button?" It's because Macs are glorified Fisher-Price activity centres for adults.

Do you ever notice how most Mac users are skinny? It's because of all the calories they burn because they can't shut the @#*# up about how great their Macs are. Everywhere I go, there's another a$$hole with a Mac preaching about how much better Macs are than PCs.

In reality, the only way to have fun with a Mac is to poke its insufferable owner in the eye.

If you truly believe you need to pick a computer that "says something" about your personality, don't bother. You don't have a personality.

And if you'll excuse me now, I feel an unexpected crash coming.

Most of the above is from a writer named Charlie Brooker

Aw Bezerker, I thought you wrote it! That was a good one (covering eyes), but if only the skinny part were true.

...you never go back!"

You want to, but can't afford to after putting down 2 mortgage payments for the Mac.

That's why I have installed Parallels Desktop and Windows on 2 friends Macs in the last month (which works great by the way).

Windows XP running Safari works just great also. Must be another "Microsoft" program problem. 8)
