Apparently crashed short of the runway, but not confirmed.

Another working pilot death to add to the 2007 fatalities. Does that really make six fatal accidents this month?

My deepest sympathies.

It appears my worst fears are confirmed. Kingair 100. Captain was a friend of mine from the trenches down south. Great guy; always straight-up with everyone he met, and the biggest heart you've ever seen.

He will be dearly missed by many. I will never forget his ridiculous wig and clown horn.

My condolences to everyone who has been touched by him.

Au revoir, mon ami, and God Bless.

So very very sad.

I worked with the Capt. as well at his previous job. He was one of the kindest most giving people I've ever met. He would give you the shirt off his back and the shoes off his feet if you needed them. He was an extremely competent and capable pilot that I trusted completely.

He will be deeply missed by his co-workers and family.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of both pilots.

If someone would please let me know the name of the pilot ... I would like to add it to the list of fallen pilots this year ... although I will not do so until the name has been made officially public.

A very minimal, and fairly painful, update:

Sorry widow:

In my opinion, this is not the place to release names. Out of respect for friends and family, I hope others will act accordingly.

We've all been trying to re-created the amazing animal noises he used to make however we haven't had much luck. He will be terribly missed by everyone who knew him and everyone down here.

Au revoir mon ami

My condolences
I was flying by and heard them on approach.
All I heard after was the FSS guy telling another inbound A/C to stop their approach due to a possible crash.
I am very sad to hear this.

Sorry, I should have clarified to PM me. It isn't necessary. It will be in the news soon enough and I will be able to honour his name with the names of the others who've been lost.

Although I never had the opportunity to fly with this Captain, I always learned something new with every conversation. A man with many skills, and many friends.
My love goes out to your family.
You will be missed greatly.

Widow,

No offense, but please let time go by and let us grieve before you start your investigations on your name research to add to your list.

Please try and put yourself in the family and friends shoes and try to see how your posts might be taken as you are only in search of ''another statistic'' to add to your list.

There are alot of people affected by this tragedy and we don't need any more reporters getting involved.

I'm very sorry if it came off this way ... I really just don't want anyone to forget ...

Every time this happens, I feel like it is happening to me all over again.

Again, peace and healing to all those affected.

What an incredible loss of a methodical and competent Captain. What an even greater tragedy to loose a good friend, loving fiancé, supportive brother, and an overall extraordinary human being.
My deepest condolences to both families and all those affected by this catastrophe.
Your ‘monkey business’ will be missed by all.

I'm so sad to hear that my friend has passed away. I'll never forget the, "Good job" on the radio or after you've landed.....still makes me smile. My heart goes out to all that have known him or were lucky enough to have met him. Rest in peace brother. Sommeil bien mon ami.
