This guy has been around a while, always dreaming, never accomplishing. His last venture was Canada Air Charter:
"A controversial Montreal entrepreneur is planning a new international airline with luxury jumbo jets on which passengers can smoke and get massaged at bargain prices. His name is Steve Z. Nasra and outside charter operation circles, he’s unknown. His carrier, Canada Air Charter will fly used Boeing 747 – 300s, with Montreal’s Mirabel airport as its home base. On a normal 747, there are about 400 passengers. Planes will carry about 270. Passengers will get monster seats. Babies get bassinets. Sky marshals trained in martial arts and a slew of video cameras will provide security. Stressed-out flyers can gawk at fish in an aquarium or flake out with audio-video stations at every seat. Executives can meet in secluded conference rooms. The destinations: overseas only. The price: comparable or cheaper than what people already pay. Nasra has worked in the travel industry for 30 years. He runs Multivoyages-Haiti Air Charter, 514.840.1146 , which flies people to Port-au-Prince. Weeks ago, he started another charter company, Canada Air Charter, which plans to begin flying people overseas in May as written in The Gazette by Nicolas van Praet . Nasra has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, bodybuilds with Arnold Schwartzenegger’s former training partner and flies his own fighter jet with the L39 Albatross Northern Light aerobatic team. The first Montreal-Italy flight will be June 20, 2002. two departures weekly, on Thursdays and Saturdays."

I hope banks will have the brains to realize that this project is insane!
YUL-ZRH with an A380? YUL-HNL A380? A380 YUL-FRA (without Star alliance???) YUL-DXB? YUL-DFW (without AA alliance)??
Present the idea to Airbus & this is what they are gonna do
Windsor-FRA? Windsor NRT? There would be like 20 people on that flight...
The bottom line is, who ever is behind this project is either asleep or is just a dreamer with no brains.
There is no market in Canada to fly the A380. Unless if your AF serving YUL or doing BA YYZ-LHR.
AC has gone over the numbers many times with planet (the most advanced forecasting software in the world)
If they are not doing them, then nobody based in Canada should.

Wow! there gonna mix fleet types:lol:The first phase of our operation will need ten A380-800 supported by eleven feeder aircraft, configured as MD90-30’s with 78 seats for executive class. The MD’s will contribute to the launching of the project and will eventually be replaced with new aircraft like the Bombardier Aéronautique Series C.

Dude, there are other high density routes in Canada other than
( booming voice)The Centre Of The Universe.
I've always thought LH, BA and even AC could throw one of those ugly bastards on the YVR-FRA or YVR-LHR routes and do alright, in the summer at least, when all three carriers are running min. 2 skeds a day, sometimes three.
Hope CX picks one up someday. I'm sure they could throw it onto their 3/day YVR-HKG and turn a dime or two.

Of course...YVR-LHR can probably work in the summer. Sorry, did not want to make an entire list of every possible route.
So far it's YUL that will host A380 service with AF... BA or LH might do YYZ or YVR?
But did you see the routes this guy wants to do on his page? Mostly out of YUL flying ridiculous routes....as if the aircraft were being based ot of NYC!

Someone earlier mentioned that an ad for this outfit has appeared in the Natl Post? Is that true??
I was seriously betting on the school project angle, but if someone actually took an ad out....wow. talk about your wack jobs.
Now I know why Brian disappeared, he got a job with these guys as head of marketing and promotion.

Windsor has an interesting catchment area that could draw long haul flow. How well served it is served today, coupled with firmly entrenched frequent flyer programs, frequency, interline agreements to get to you home or your destination should you flight go mechanical, etc, etc with really challenge these guys.
YTO to Zurich is really entertaining. It's not a big market for point to point traffic and it helps Swiss flow traffic to Eastern and southern Europe, Middle East/Africa, etc. Zurich is not only well served by Swiss on that route, but also by BA, AF, LH. LH and Swiss are partnered.
Carrier selection criteria by business travellers sees affinity programs, sechedule and frequency scoring highly. How this airline will successfully draw this market onto their airplanes will be interesting to watch.
Furthermore, what airline is going to sign an interline traffic agreement with them to help them out when they go mechanical? Once passengers are stranded with no reprotection, they are not likely to choose that airline again. Furthermore, aside from the competitive reasons for not interlining with a competing airline, financial exposure to accepting tickets and risking non-payment due to it being a startup will make this even more daunting.
There has never been a shortage of airline wannabees. There are far easier ways to make money in life.

Good luck getting an alliance with Swiss. AC will never allow something like that to happen. Star Alliance is a very strong, but restrictive alliance.bmc wrote:Windsor has an interesting catchment area that could draw long haul flow. AC wanted to do YUL-GVA but was denied by Swiss....AC could easily do the same vice versa if it affects their market.
In terms of Windsor.....I think this guy wants to compete with Northwest & attract people from the Detroit market?
