I just got my Bell Sympatico bill today, and thought it was a bit high. I was drunk one day when they called and signed up for their "total internets awesome package". Now my bills are higher than they've ever been! This was supposed to be some kinda awesome discount package!
WTF?
I really wanna switch to a service that will not ding me for downloading hours of porn and political documentaries.
I want the cheapest internets service possible, dammit!

I haven't had any trouble with Shaw at all. Then again my uncle did before switching back to Telus.
Unfortunately it looks like more and more of the larger ISPs are starting to limit Bittorrent speeds, at least during prime times. Setting your Bittorrent client to use something other than the default ports can help, but there are ways for them to get around this too.
Probably the only provider to still offer a true unlimited package is Teksavvy (DSL reseller). They have been very highly rated and recommended by users. Not to mention being cheaper. They offer a 200GB cap (far above other companies) for $30/mo or true unlimited for $40.
Good luck with Sympatico, and their accounting department or whatever they call it.
It took me more than 3 months to finally get my account closed with them.
Or maybe I shouldn't have yelled so many time on the phone with them
I use videotron now, if you're alone I don't recommend it because, while they are very fast, the basic package is caped at like 20 gig but what I did is me and my landlord switched to the unlimited package for like 65 and split it, upstairs I use the wireless et they use their thing normaly..
PS, I beleive the now unlimited package has been downgraded to 100 gig.. which is still plenty.
Before that I was with AEI internet.. that I liked because while being the same price as BELL, they did'nt have a contract. When I moved here there was no DSL available so I switch with cable. My router their modem it was the best solution for every one.
But I would never go with videotron alone though. no point in dl 1meg/sec if 3 days later you're out
Sasktel is pretty good. No caps but it's only available here. Speeds are respectable and good bundles including t.v even though my t.v comes from the cable provider
