Voyageur expanding?

With all the job postings, are they expanding or just loosing all their crew?
When are companies going to figure out that good working conditions and days off are just as important as a good salary.
I think good pay will attract new pilots but it's the conditions that will keep them. In return, the companies have experienced drivers and keep the training costs down.

from what i hear they are losing people as fast as they get them,if they get them at all. It also sounds like a disgruntled ex employee that has been trying to post on here. haha

Over the past couple of months the crews I talked to were getting frustrated with scheduling or lack thereof (Pilots + mechs alike). Things like working well into their month off, or getting called back early... stood out among other examples of a clueless/unorganized management.
Of course this was usually just beer talk from some guys who sounded like they weren't going to be there much longer.

working well into their month off,
That would suck...
getting called back early
But wouldn't you simply not answer your phone or email until your time is due?

Well, the joke on the Hanger floor was always...you will know things are bad when they Start sending the managers away on rotation because there are no employees left! With the Line Maintenance Manager, Cheif Pilot, and Director of Flight Ops sent to Africa for the Xmas Holidays...maybe things have hit ROCK BOTTOM!...Who's next to go to Africa to fly and Fix? Director of Maintenance or Vice President?

I think that might be part of the problem..perhaps they aren't paying well enough for the treatment/conditions that are expecting guys to work under..

I know some guys working there at this time, they hate it big time!!! The company sounds as though the mangement has there head up there arrogant ass's... There is a reason they interview every week???
Even the pay scale is not good if you want to compare to say Zemex flying a Twinn otter or CHC for that matter. Several guys got hired did one tour dropped their 15G, on the table and said see ya! Sounds as though there has to be some serious changes there before anything get's better. Maybe some heads will roll when aircraft get parked.
I also heard lot's of fraudulent type of operations going on to give guys the time required to make the UN requirments.
Definately do your research before you think of going to work for these guy's, it could be a big mistake!

Any company that asks you to bring money to get the job has to pay huge or everybody should just tell them where to stick it.

i had an interview with these guys a while ago...the two human resources people were nice, but the CP was a dick...in my opinion. they want 8 grand up front and this is how it works for people who dont know. you give them 8g's and at the end of the year, they pay you back. however, if you leave at ANY time before those 365 days are up, you get NOTHING! i never took the job and im with a company now that doesnt even have a bond!
flying a 200 would be sweet, but medevac isn't the funnest job. i dont know what they're problem is. turn-over is high right now, but not that high. they need to amortize the bond at least so you get something back every month and possibly pay the f/o's slightly more. captain pay seems to be good at 65K.
the company im with certainly doesn't have a hard time finding people and the turn-over has been quite low actually over the last few months. so, this isn't industry wide. something needs to change with voyageur. they're doing this to themselves.
my 2 cents...

You know I really have to laugh at all the pilots on here crying about bond this and bond that. Here at voyageur us maintenance guys dont have to sign a bond, or "pay to have a job." Why do you pilots think that you need to fork over the cash? Could it be because you guys have a history of screwing companies. Leaving before your first shift and after all your training because God at Jazz just called....

Bear I am just wondering for the 15K do they provide you with the second log book you are expected to keep doctored up for the UN contract or do you have to provide that one yourself?

I see. So first I understand the CP refuses to certify the logbooks of people who leave under less than absolutely ideal conditions that suit the company and only the company. Apparently if you leave a day before your bond is up not only do you loose every penny of your 15K but no certification of the ol log. Know a couple of guys that this happened to that were leaving for airline jobs. Hey I'm all for honoring bonds and such, but when you have paid money and choose to leave when AC, WJ, Jazz e.t.c. call, you are not doing anything wrong. In fact it is them that are getting away with something by taking all your money. Bonds should be at the very least pro-rated. Just my 2 cents.
Now this with the UN. I wonder what next at this absolutely wonderful operation? Or should that be wonderfully absolute operation? Hmmm!

Bonds: the 'mature' route (big companies, like mine) is 4% of the outstanding bond X number of months left in the 'contract' for a 2-year.
Presumably 8% for a one-year would be fair? 15,000 X 8% X 1 month = $1200.
That's fair(er).

What they do is make you take out a bank loan, so if you leave your left with the loan to pay off and no job.
All I can say is that if guys are leaving to go to Jazz well it doesnt say much about "lowager". One or two more are going to take there losses soon in the Dark continent. They must be making money of these bank loans, ha ha!
