Just curious as what to expect during the pre-screening phone interview.

My thoughts exactly. I dont think anyone will be able to answer this, as this process is brand new. Im afraid my friend that we are going to be the guinea pigs.

Perhaps they are finally learning how to properly interview people. It's really about time.

What exactly is the purpose of a phone interview?

Yah because we all know that sunwing has the interview process down to a fucking science. Give me a break dude, the AC interview is fairly standard when you're dealing with a legacy carrier. If you don't believe me look at how our neighbors to the south do things. In addition to all the AC stuff they want your drivers abstract and credit history to help them make decisions.
Re: Phone interview
I think the first phone interviews were scheduled for today. Did anyone do one? Was it all it all HR type questions?

Phone interviews are for ground positions. AC emails invites they don't pick up the phone...
Re: Phone interview

Is AC still a "Legacy" carrier??? ... Actually are there any "Legacy" carriers left in north america? .. Endless .. you need to relax on the attitude .. you sound like an ass?!the AC interview is fairly standard when you're dealing with a legacy carrier

Re: Phone interview
Loc,
Don't mistake pride and "an attitude." Legacy carriers? As in the ones that have been around since before WW2?

Referring to the airline industry, a "Legacy Carrier" is an airline revolving around a hub & spoke network and a corporate structure. In the U.S. market, the term specifically refers to those airlines that existed prior to the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978...
...While mainly used in the United States (See "The Big Six" Below), other examples of legacy "mainline airline" carriers from around the world include Air Canada, Avianca, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Aeromexico.
Yup, Legacy Carrier.

Re: Phone interview
Do they call ahead/email ahead of time arrange the phone interview or is just out of the blue? Also, what area code did they call from? What kind of questions did they ask and how long was it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Phone interview
From what i've heard, it's a collect call, at around 6:00 p.m. with a 514 area code. Have fun!
