Interview Tips?
So I've managed to get an interview next week with Perimeter (after working a bit of time on the ground, of course), and as it's my first interview for a flying job, I figured I'd hunt around here for interview tips from some of the more experienced guys. Anything's appreciated...fire away

Re: Interview Tips?
1) Dress appropriately.
2) Have a coupe of copies of your current resume with you.
3) Be yourself.
4) Talk to others at the company about what to expect both at the Interview and on the job.
5) Have a short list of questions to ask after the iterview.
This topic has been addressed elsewhere in other forums but I know that a simple search on the internet about interview preps will yield good info.
Good Luck

Re: Interview Tips?
I don't know how much has changed or stayed the same but I know they did an interview with pretty straight forward questions- nothing technical as far as I know. Then they did a basic sim eval. Hold, approach possibly an engine failure in there.
Re: Interview Tips?
I'm pretty sure the sim eval has been scrapped this time around - there's the Metro sim in place now, so they'll be observing us during training after to get an idea of our IFR skills. So it's interview only for now.highlander wrote:I don't know how much has changed or stayed the same but I know they did an interview with pretty straight forward questions- nothing technical as far as I know. Re: Interview Tips?
Are you applying to replace the guy that selected the gear up handle instead of the retract flaps selector on the Baron while taxing to the ramp in Red Lake last week?
Re: Interview Tips?
know the CAP, have apositive attitude, dont be too nervous, he or she, knows the level you are at, they`re not going to expect you to know every single detail about ifr.

How does a constant speed prop work?
Likely very dated info.

Re: Interview Tips?
Quickly? I think it happened well over a week ago. I'm surprised that nobody else jumped all over it, the green machine seemed to be everybodys favorite target around the time this accident occured. Even stranger was that SkyCare...ex Skyward Dude also trashed their machine on the runway later the same day. Runway was NOTAM closed for about 6 hrs combined two machines wrecked, curly props in all directions and nothing appears on AvCanada. What has happened to our community? What happened to all the slagging and mud slinging? I'm truely disappointed, has everybody in here suddenly joined ALPA?Well, someone got the word out rather quickly

True, true... it was last week, afaik... The plane's actually not looking too terrible though, definitely not wrecked.Hot Fuel wrote:Quickly? I think it happened well over a week ago. I never heard about the SkyCare thing, though...interesting, looks like YRL certainly took its share of victims that day. Ouch.
