PC12 or King Air 90?
Simple question. Everything else being equal. Pay, work conditions, benefits, routes, vacation. EVERYTHING equal.
Would you rather take a job on a PC12, or a King Air 90?
Why?
RTFQ!!

Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
Right now, I'd take the one which offered me the job.
Seriously though, doesn't this depend a lot on motivation? If I was low on multi time, I'd have to go with the KA. If I wanted to take 9 people and gear somewhere, well, the 90 ain't going to cut it. And the Pilatus is way sexier machine. So...
Ummm, what was the question again?

Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
I'll take the PC-12 thanks. Better avionics.
You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Hows that Janitrol heater in the 90 work again?

Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
No question..PC12...slick avionics plus flies faster and higher. And yes, I do know it's a single engine aircraft
Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
I have no opinions one way or the other. Just curious. BTW, the 90 doesn't have a Janitrol.

The Jag was awesome but for the pilot you can't beat the -12.....Except could someone tell me how they build a 4 million dollar airplane with $40 pilot seats?

I fly for the operator, not the machine. Treat me well and I'd aviate in a radio flyer.
Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
Better avionics??? have you seen a current be-90??

I've never flown a PC-12. Beeches are some of the nicest airplanes I've ever flown from the 18 to the 1900. I'll take the 90!

I've never had anyone tell me they'd love to fly a King Air some day. Hear all the time about the Pilatus.
Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
I would take the m.e turbine time over the s.e.
Besides, when an engine cavs on the 90 its still noisy, instead of the silence you are going to get on the pc 12.

That's some pretty nifty looking avionics ....Dog wrote:Better avionics??? have you seen a current be-90??

I am the reverse Dog, presently flying the PC-12

Having yet to fly the King Air 90 or B1900, I really can't compare at this point
Hence, for now, my vote is the Pilatus
The money goes towards those lovely EFIS screens.quickflight wrote:The Jag was awesome but for the pilot you can't beat the -12.....Except could someone tell me how they build a 4 million dollar airplane with $40 pilot seats?

Definately Making them "cushier" would be start ...
... And in the realm of redisgn; making the cockpit easier to get in and out would be nice.
I'm 6'5" ... I don't get into the plane, I wear it

Ok make the question interesting
What would you rather fly, a PC12 or a Queen Air with those old oil-leaking supercharged fire-hazard-in-a-can IGSO 480s
The Queen is a twin ... much safer than a single, ... right?
Oh yah, and all the old vacuum tube avionics.

Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
I've flown the -90GT some. As far as stock avionics go, no different from the latest c90B off the line, in fact, FlightSafety didn't have a GT specific sim. Last word they had in Witchita last year was a switch to ProLine 21. I haven't heard anything since, though I didn't believe it at the time, thinking a G1000 would make more sense for the target Bonanza/Baron upgrade market.
I've never flown the pc12 but, the brand new 90 didn't have much going for it over the -200. The operator had some sweat avionics in the GT, including a half assed attempt at an EFB. That and, it was almost effortless to grease the landing, something you had to work at in the -200 and, something I hear it shares with the Pilatus. I guess to answer your question, I'd pick the PC12 as I've never flown one before and I like to try new planes. In the same vein, I'd love to fly a Spitfire but, wouldn't advocate it for passenger use.

Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
PC-12 ANY DAY! I´ve flown the PC-12 as well as the BE-18,-200 and 1900 and none of the bee-atches can touch the pc-12 for pilot comfort and ease of work-load. Going from a 1997 pc-12 to a 2001 Be-1900 was a HUGE step backwards in terms of general cockpit layout and avionics

Re: PC12 or King Air 90?
This isn't about one engine vs. two. It's more a window of where you all are with your flying careers. I'm assuming the PC12 fans are a little younger than the ones who would choose the 90? Sure would like to get my paws on an A26 though...better still, a Tiger Cat. But that's off topic.
That PC12 sure has one slick panel.
