Waiting for the Interview
I am at Jazz on the RJ out of YVR, been there nearly a year..I went for the hangar tour in November and met Dave.P. I was told my file would be put in the good pile....Its been nearly 3 months and still no call. Im starting to wonder if it might be my low MPIC. I have 3700 hrs, about 600 on the RJ...and various twin turbine machines...I have about 1400hrs Pic time, however only about 400 MPIC.
Now if he said it was being put in the good pile and I should expect a call...should I be worried about the amount of time that has passed? or should i just not worry and be patient.
Anyway, I appreciate any responses.....thanx

Re: Waiting for the Interview
I think that if you are in the good pile you just need to be patient. I had an application in since 2003/2004. Did a tour in 2005 and I got interviewed 2007- Now on a course this month. In other topics or posts- it's mentioned that they have nearly 2500 applications and they pull only so many per month.
Re: Waiting for the Interview
heheh, they must call you 'oldtimer' being at Jazz for over 6 months!
Joking aside, I wouldn't worry about it until hearing nothing for 6 months. The truth is, there is a huge stack of very qualified guys(I'm told) waiting for the same interview, so if you're lacking in any area, it will probably delay the call. Good luck anyways!

Re: Waiting for the Interview
Wow!
What is it with Jazz?
An old friend and coursemate, with whom I had lost contact with many years ago, had left the CF and flew with Nova and then Jazz for 7 years. He eventually left Jazz and rejoined the CF. I asked him why he left and came back to the CF (when so many of us are leaving the CF and going to the airlines). Well, the anger and rage that comes out of this guy when you ask him about Jazz is something else!!!
Just seems odd to a guy like me who has never seen the airline side of the fence.

Re: Waiting for the Interview
Hmm... I was told they want 1000 M-PIC, don't know if that's true or not.
Best of luck, hope it happens soon for you.

Re: Waiting for the Interview
Currently running courses every three weeks subject to marketing requirements. Interviews will be slowing shortly as we are building a small pool of candidates. This will carry us through most of the summer. Late summer and fall will be busy with interviews again as we hire for deliveries in 2009.
Re: Waiting for the Interview
hey dave, how many guys/gals are we predicting to hire over the next couple of years?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Waiting for the Interview
120 pilot hires are planned for this year based on 7 deliveries. We are scheduled for nine next year, so I'm guessing around the 160 mark at this point in time. Marketing hours drive the recruiting.
Re: Waiting for the Interview
Truly are one in a million Dave. Keep up the awesome work! People really appreciate it.
