One Six Right

Post by unknowingly upsidedown »

Anybody here watched this documentary? Just from the screen shots on the website it looks like a spectacular, and beautiful movie, with lots of amazing footage.

It is EXCELLENT. It is all about people that love aviation, from pilots to mechanics to controllers. Cub owners, Mustang owners, Biz jet pilots, the people at VanNuys and the community at that airport.

It is a really nice movie and it'll give you a warm feeling about everything you love about aviation and the flying fraternity. A must for any aviator or lover of flying.

This would be a great movie for IMAX.

Great movie. Even non-pilots can enjoy it. Some spectacular footage and I would love to see it on a big IMAX screen. It is always close to my DVD player.

Great movie, only got to see half of it. Plan on viewing the rest of the movie in the near future. Great flying shots!

Do you need a HD DVD player to watch it?

Whoops, never noticed that. I hope it gets remastered in BluRay since now that HD DVD is done it may be hard to justify buying an HD DVD player to watch one movie.

on the other hand you can probably find an HDDVD player for fairly cheap pretty soon. also, you can buy the DVD or the HD- DVD, two options.

Already have the DVD version. Was holding off buying the HD version until we had some HD players in the house. Seems a shame to buy a split mode player for the one disk on HD DVD that I would be interested in.

Just read this afternoon that Toshiba is folding the HD DVD format, they pretty much are conceding the HiDef format war.

The Pitts sequence is probably one of the coolest flying scenes ever filmed. An inverted flat spin, shot air-to-air from a heli, come on it doesnt get any better than that!

Don't think it ever saw general release in cinemas. I bought my copy from Sporty's as part of a larger order.

I wouldn't recommend watching a downloaded version - not because I'm a copyright crusader but simply because this movie has some extraordinary cinematography with huge landscapes and gorgeous aircraft shots. Compressed video simply doesn't do it justice - DVD is very nice but with an HD source on a HD screen it will blow you away.
