If someone is offered a side-saddle job with them, how long before they are moved onto the 1900? How much are the 1900 folks flying these days?
I know there are other CJ topics on here, but they're filled with fighting and bickering...I can't be bothered to read through it.

When you get hired as an S/O, you will remain in that position until you bid and are awarded a different position. This doesn't necessarily mean that the transition will be S/O to 1900, it all depends on your qualifications, seniority and desired path.
To give you some background and my reply some context, this time last year we had one aircraft type (727) and one crew base (YHM). This kept things somewhat predictable. You were hired as an S/O on the 727 based in YHM. Then at some point your seniority # would come up and you'd be given the opportunity for an upgrade to F/O 727 YHM.
With the addition of 2 new crew bases (YVR and YMX), our own regional fleet and the 757/767 program all introduced within the last 12 months, there are many ways in which a new S/O can now bid. You could bid same base new type, same base upgrade on type, new base new type, new base same type....you get the idea.
As far as length of time to upgrade/base or type change, with the recent rate of growth and expansion, the time frame has been measured in months as opposed to years.
I hope this helps answer your question.

Yeah, that helps big time. Thanks alot for your input. This info was for my own general curiosity, and also to help my best friend come up with some answers. Sure sounds like a good time to be a CJ.

No problem, glad to help. There is a lot going on here these days and it is a good place to be. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Re: CargoJet
Did anyone go to the interview? I got 3 days notice for an interview and was already covering a shift for someone else and was unable to make the one time they could give me. I figured they would be a little more flexible, and understanding, but i guess they aren't. It's kind of to bad, but i don't see how screwing over my company to go to an interview could be seen as a good thing.
