I just started with Westjet and I need a headset....
I just started with Westjet and I need a headset, so I was looking for some input about what kind to get, specs that I should look for, best bang for my buck, and the best place to shop for it. Any help would be great.

I think she does a great job !!!
a quick search using "headset and westjet" or "737" would've brought the mentioned thread.
But people are lazy.

Ah, the BIG TIMES, now, you can finally afford a headset. I like the David Clark H-1040's, but then, I still wear Ray Ban Aviators...
Drinking lots of coffee lately, at a nice safe jungle desk, wishing I were flying......

Anyone know if the Telex 850 with ANR will work on a 737-200?

I realized Redline's intent after I hit "Submit"... I'm still too lazy to work the "Edit" function. We're just so used to negative comments here...

Didn't see anything on using them in 737-200 series... all the comments are about the NGs.lilfssister wrote:There are several comments on the Telex 850 on page two of the thread I linked above.
Re: I just started with Westjet and I need a headset....
Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt this sort of like saying
Will a Radio Shack FM work in my Ford or do I have to get a Mr. Lear model TXV.
Maybe it works better in a Chev or Lada.
What has the type has to do with the radio suite??

They should supply them, Just kidding. I remember doing flight training using the good old david clark that 100000 other students breath, sneazed, slobered on, especially in the winter
. i bought my own headset for my second flight

NG = new
the 850 is new and seeing that in order to use the batteryless noise canceling feature the aircraft radio package must be suitable. The NG is from what I have read but I have no idea if the old -200 radios are. I won't go out and drop all that cash to test it myself so I'm asking if any -200 drivers have had success with the 850.
Doesn't matter anyway as I found a brand new 750 on Ebay for $130.
Re: I just started with Westjet and I need a headset....
I find that surprising that you need to buy your own headset. Maybe im one of the few that never had to buy one, I dont know just seems weird coming from an airline like WJ.
Re: I just started with Westjet and I need a headset....
I'm not with WJ and the company I work for supplies the headband and ear bud, which I have been using, but I would rather hear the radio in both ears at a lower volume.185/310 wrote:I find that surprising that you need to buy your own headset. These kick ass, and should be good for the corporate culture of Westjet. The 9 volt battery may die on you and things get noisy, so carry a spare in your rolly-bag.

I have a Sennheiser noise cancelling headset that fits the jacks on the NG for sale. I used it when I worked with WJ. I paid $650 for it, selling it for $300.00
