Re: PFO?
I don't understand why they would give you a PFO after all was said and done. I mean I can see if you failed the medical or the drug test, or your references spoke ill of you. Other then that it would be a huge waste of money to take you through the whole process just to decide in the end you weren't Jazz material. I would like to know the reason they would PFO after the process?
Re: PFO?
Ya, i figured they had plenty of opportunity to determine if one is indeed Jazz material
1. Interview
2. Sim eval
3. References
I figure a PFO after all that would mean either a bad medical or bad references. I can't imagine they would simply "throw away" your application just for kicks.

Re: PFO?
O/K............ I am going to bite, what does PFO officially mean. Is it
1. Please @#$! Off
2. Poor First Officer
3. Pilot Fucked Over.......
etc, etc,
Why can't you(they) simply say, I got turned down and not this silly acronym. For the record and in my advanced years I know many very good pilots who never went near an airline and conversly for a few jack-offs, this(airline) flying was their first stop. And yes, I got letters or PFOs telling me I wasn't wanted and I sent out letters PFOs telling thanks, but no thanks for your offer. Things will work out for you like that song says".......... sometimes you are ahead, sometimes you are behind, the race is long and in the end it is only with yourself........"

Re: PFO?
Absolutely, I received an automated email PFO after completing the entire process and 2 months since interview. Jazz Policy of reference checking with current employers is in my opinion, counter-intuitive as it can cause a great amount of stress and ackwardness to both parties, it is also done at the end of the entire process. Not all bosses are glad your moving on and can be a little peeved your leaving. It also involves checking refernces that were not provided. Go Figure!
Good for me in the end, 737 next!!!!!
good luck to all in the process.

Re: PFO?
PFO'd 14 hours after simulator evaluation.
The sim eval was fun and not too difficult, Flew what would be considered a good ride, didn't blow any altitudes by any appreciable amount, One steep turn was within about 120', the other hardly any deviations, Improvement from start to finish and what I thought was good resource management and transfer of control. Finished with a spot-on ILS and smooth landing.
It really looks like they are looking for something else here, I really wish I knew what it was. I was calm and polite in the cockpit, perhaps I came across as arrogant, I hope not. For those of you going in for eval, I guess my advice is not worth too much, But don't let this psych you out, It's relaxed and everything they expect of you is clearly stated, The PNF is a big help as well. I just don't think I had any insight on exactly what they were looking for.
Well It was a good interview, and a month of excitment and anticipation, The people at Jazz are great, mabey I will get my oppertunity sometime in the future.

Re: PFO?
I still hear of people getting PFO'd from jazz.
For example, I hear of 1,500 hour pilots getting on, no multi command time, and mostly right seaters (no jets), and then, senior guys with close to 10K and half multi turbine command getting PFO'd. So who knows.
If you're interested, go in and give it a try.

Re: PFO?
I think they send emails, but its only been a week for you so dont worry. I waited 2+ weeks to get a call for the sim, so dont sweat it too much.dashman69 wrote:Do they email PFO's these days? Did my interview last week and haven't heard from them since.

Maybe because they know the 10k guy is going to bail while they have the 1.5k guy by the balls.bob sacamano wrote:I still hear of people getting PFO'd from jazz.
