Hey

Whats the deal with Pasco? Good sched? Do they pay much more than CMA? Living in Van, you would want to make a decent buck. I have heard the airlines don't look to fondly of them, is there some truth to that?

thanks

I recently did a Group 1 IFR initial ride with a DFTE who is a Westjet Captain... He said that there were several pilots at Westjet who previously worked for Pasco. Don't know about other airlines though...

Things are still growing and talk of more planes is always on the horizon. With the new pay scale an FO can make at least 40K with possibilities of up to 50K in overtime. Captains around 60 to 70K.

1900 is always fun and the Saab is a great aircraft. Looks like another groundschool will be run in May. There has been a slight change from the 3 on 3 off schedule and it is a little more sporadic but they are trying to find a balance between fewer, longer days and shorter, less days.

Good place to work and I don't see why any airlines would look down on them.

From the last year only two are now at westjet, three at jazz, and I can think of about 6 at big red.

Maybe more people like PASCO and stay thus you don't see as many ex-PASCO in Westjet or Air Canada? People who work at CMA will go places... because they don't want to stay where they are...

Is PASCO a good place to get a start as a flight follower, on the road to becoming a full dispatcher?

If so, who does flightops@pacificcoastal route to, so I can shoot them a resume?

Thanks!

I don't think there's truth to that, more CMA guys go on to mainline and jazz; but they are also a Tier op so there is a linkage there.

But no, there are some great pilot's who went from pasco and are flying for ACA.

A little birdie told me that the new hire FO's have been told they may be laid off in the fall, any truth to this rumor?

Where do people start at Pasco? On the Bandit or Shorts? Which is the "junior" aircraft? Also, what are the rosters like? Did you say there are normally furloughs in the Fall? I have several friends that are interested in Pasco and some other turboprop operators. Thank you.

I was told that 40 pilots are being laid off immediately? This sounded like a bunch of crap to me considering it's still high season, and fuel prices have dropped back down now. I know Pasco lays off every fall so it's nothing new.

I heard from a source that 20 pilots are being laid off and 5 planes will be parked? I guess they didn't learn anything from last year and plan to lose their layoffs to other companies.

The Bandits are long gone and they don't have as many Shorts as they used to. Chances are the 1900C is the entry level plane (those that know, please correct me if I'm wrong) and the Saab 340s do the lion's share of the work.
