Air Canada service

Post by A330 »

I flew AC recently and I have to say they sure haven't improved from what I can see. The flight was from YVR to LHR and they were using an old 767, with no seat back entertainment system with some boring movie ( only one option ); the service was basic in economy and a flight attendant thought it was nap time after the service so he proceeded to lay himself across the seat behind me. Another tireless employee was snoring behind him. I looked back and thought.......nothing has changed at this place. Other carriers are offering far superior service, products and comfort, especially on an international flight. It might as well have been a flight to Regina. I think it will take a lot more than Celine to turn this thing around.........

PS. I liked the old livery and the new one does nothing for me.

That was what she got for Chrysler. A/C paid her $40 million.

Well 330, we here at AvCanada live to serve. I'll call Robert first thing in the morning and tell him to order you up a new 767.

I hope this helps.

Sorry AC fans out there........most of the equipement is old, the service is tired and old and it just doesn't compete with the likes of other good carriers. You just don't see flight attendants lying flat in economy snoring next to other passengers on other airlines. I guess grandma and grandpa need their nap....

I agree with the move to put Shania on the job.

Sounds like you got all the whine you needed. on your flight

And your wrong about the equipment, AC has a young fleet. And is conitueing to remodernize and upgrade the planes IE: NEW AIRBUS 19/20/21/30/340 -500 and new emb and Rjs rollin out soon as for the 767`s most of the 200`s are gone and the 300`s are still in there prime.

I didn't drink, but I applaud your loyality with such a disfunctional operation. How often do you wait for gates? How many smiles and good nature do you see with the gate agents and check in staff. There are always the exception and I did have a very nice check in person on this flight but just to be undone with an old witch at the gate.....the sooner they get rid of the old and bitter the better for everyone.

The fleet might be getting younger but being replaced with smaller equipment.

Sorry, just the facts.

Hmm reading back on your posts it appears that you couldn’t hack it as a CX S/O. On another post you accused this forum as having no idea about aviation and now your passing your twisted judgment on AC.

Me thinks you’re a loser

I had the same trouble the last time I flew Wetjet to LHR.

Rebel: I second that.

I was just wondering if everyone out there has had bad experience with AC. I flew them early this summer and the service was on par. Not exceptional but not poor either. I wonder if too many people are passing judgment on an isolated case. We are all human, mabey those flight attendants had been having a really bad day! it happens to all of us and it does take a toll. Don't shit on the whole company if one or two people lack dignity. However, The opposite is true. I am judging the company on the one 'so so' flight I had. Mabey I was just lucky.

I agree totally, Celine was a waste of money!

Last time I flew with AC I swore I'd never fly with them ever again.

But being a cheap SOB, I just bought tickets to Denver with AC... they were the cheapest for my route/dates.

We'll see

Well, I fly the Canada to Europe route quite regular and find that poor service is usually due to the persons involved and not tied to any one company.

But........ anyone remember ever getting poor service from Wardair?

A330....The FA's you saw sleeping may well have been finishing up a very long shift. The "witch" at the gate may have backed over her little dog "Toto" on her way to work that morning. These people are HUMAN. And unless a human is a "supermodel" maaking 10K per hour, OR the village IDIOT, it's almost impossable to smile ALL the time!
How many flights do you make in a year? On company passes, or do YOU pay? All airlines have bad days, and yet, it seems that AC is always the victum of all you whiners. Methinks the grapes are a little sour? IMHO, all the airlines suck as far as service goes! All of 'em. Passengers are hearded on like cattle....poked and prodded...in the name of security, stuffed into middle seats between fat guys with colds, and small snot-nosed childern...they all do it, in the name of the almighty dollar. AC's no worse than anybody else...and better than most. I've flown WestJet, and I dont think the jokes are funny...if I want jokes, I'll tune in Jay Leno. And I've flown Jetsgo...I survived the journey...on time! And I've flown Wardair...in the good old days....and they were the BEST airline in the country...maybe the world for service...but they got stupid...like every other airline out there. So you had a bad flight....do you ALWAYS smile to yor pax....are YOU hot in a skirt and heels?.....if so, PM me!

JBI wrote: Why did you choose Air Canada over other international carriers? That's the great thing about being in a free market, you can choose to fly on a different company
Actually you can't anymore.. With all the "teams," you book a flight with company A, and they throw you onto company Bs plane, very very irritating.

No Cat... not likely anyone ever did get poor service on Wardair... For one reason, there was a supervisor on board all the time... the head cookie chucker (CSA? In Charge? Purser?... can't remember what they were called there) was a non union sup. ...and Max was intent on providing awesome service!

That was one airline I'll always be proud to have worked for!

But AC rocks too! We're on a new track with many good things to come. Stuff the grumblers!

A330, you never answered ... who do you work for?

Ignorance is bliss... :?

No joking here...can we all show some respect to the people that work hard in the back.

I had words with a captain once because prior to take off he PA's the cabin to advise the crew we are about to take off. In his deep raspy, lounge singer 'airline voice' he states...

" 8) aahhhhhh.....Flight attendants........ahhhhhh have a seat" 8) .

Afterwards at altitude I talk to him and say..." Passengers have seats....F/A'a have jump seat positions".

" 8) aahhhhh.....wha..?! 8) " he states.

I get more mental stimulation watching my plants grow.

Last time I flew Air Canada was Toronto - Frankfurt, and had excellent service (in economy).

But, with the restructuring, many have been laid off, which means those who remain are worked to the bone.

I'd cut them a little slack, A330. They've had a rough go lately. This airline has had to operate with it's legs shackled due to the Public Participation Act (a ridiculous document)

Let's give the employees and the airline an honest chance to try to recover.
