We've run out of promotable FO's for the next month's worth of new captain positions. We're looking for captains on Beech kingairs and 99, and Otter on floats. We are in particular need of people with current or recently lapsed PPCs since they each require significant line indoc otherwise. Once we get our almost upgradeable crews moved up, this window will close.
Qualified applicant are eligible for a signing bonus after line indoc
If you have questions, AFTER you have searched through the myriad threads, PM me.

Is Borek expanding or is it industry movement? I mean... there's a captain quote every month?

Flying activity on the arctic increases monthly from April to labour day, and the ranks of northern captains swell from upgraded FO's and captains not need in the Maldives as the season slows.
- We've runout of upgradeables for a month at least the ones who won't need a 100 hour line indoc.
- We haven't had a slakening of demand in the Maldives.
- We bought a couple more airplanes that are now on-line.

This is exactly the reason why I always tell young guys starting out to get some float time. It provides you with more opportunities when the industry is expanding but more importantly it also allows you a far better chance of staying employed in aviation when the industry tanks and the laying off begins!

Didn't have spare airplanes. Our work is being limited due to lack of 300 frames to buy up.

Does Borek have work for the seasonal guys? Preferably work the dives Oct-April, and back home for the spray season?

We have several captains who are contract, who mainly fly tankers in the canadian summer.
Hadn't really thought about that for FO's since most FO's are scrambling to fly as muchper year as they can so they can upgrade.

Yea I wouldn't be looking at it as a year round gig. Just something to do during the winter months. I liked chasing the sun around the earth this past year. Looking to do it again. What are the possibilities of a contracted FO (500hr range), be it the dives or not.

JC can correct me on this.. but the way it was explained to me was that if you don't come with an Otter PPC and otter time.. that when you're trained at borek.. You'll be signing a training agreement just like everyone else for one solid year. No money is exchanged unless you decide to leave before the year mark. Theres always work for those otter guys!!

Any word on if working only the winter in the Maldives is possible?

I havn't heard anything. I'll toss another resume and cover letter explaining. Just Curious ... care to ask some higher ups? Unless you are one of em that is.
Does Borek have any small singles here in Canada? Big fleet on the website, but occationally companies don't post say their 180 on ski's or 206 on wheels ... etc.

do a search for AKLAK air something on the net, very small company upnorth , they may have a single but I'm not even sure about that as their craft are operated by Borek
Air inuit for instance had a dh2 operated out of YZV(not sure about YZV), but that was a pretty impossible gig to get.
I wouldn't expect such companies to give a single in the hands of a low timer upnorth (when I say low timer, I gues "experienced" begins at 3000hrs may be)

Borek has nothing but Turbine twins.. what with the departure of the Super DC-3 that left a while back. There are no singles or pistons in the fleet.
Borek operates under the aklak name in inuvik.. Theres a 200 for medevac, 99's, bandits, otters and a 100 there at present, but this changes from time to time to meet the needs.

not that I know of... I'm pretty sure they are looking for KA200 pilots for the frozen north though.
