Re: Any pilot from Chartright here
All I've heard around the north end is that the salary is somewhat below industry standard, benefits are good and maintenance is very good. Minimum crews per plane though, so no schedule. Heard this from a guy who knows a guy...no names...
The unfortunate devolution of corporate aviation at the hands of "management" companies.

Thanks for the info....why are we not surprised.....
Re: Any pilot from Chartright here
Ive enjoyed my time at Chartright, but like many companies it has its good and bad....so here goes:
Good:
-Lots of different aircraft, so lots of room for advancement/change ( J31, astra, 5 hawkers, 2 falcon 50, falcon 2000, a few globals, citation, several challengers, g-3, md-87....and so on)
-3 bases, Toronto, Vancouver and Moscow
-Decent per diems when away (especially in carrib and europe)
-excellent health/benefits coverage
-They match up to 5% of your salary into a group RRSP
-lots of good people working there
-great maintenance
-usually put you up in good hotels (Marriott, Hilton....)
-Rental cars for crews if you have a couple of day layover
Bad:
-Lack of sched (14 on call, 3 off) though how many of those 14 you're actually flying/away depends on the A/C, owner, and charter work
-2 year pro-rated training contract/bond
-pay is below straight corporate flight departments, but on par with the other management companies in yyz. Rumour is they upped the staring pay for new hires.....but I guess they forgot about those that have been there for awhile!!!
Some other stuff:
most training is done at flight safety (10 days-4 weeks, depending on A/C)
how much you actually fly and if you enjoy yourself at Chartright really depends on what aircraft you fly because of the owner (primary pax) and the amount of charter work that plane gets.
If i think of anything else ill let ya'll know

Thanks for passing that info along...
14 on call and 3 off?!? Is it just me or does that seem quite brutal?!?
Nice fleet though.

Re: Any pilot from Chartright here
The 14 on call is more like 14 days available to work. Usually you know about a trip the day before. There isnt many "day of" call outs. That usually only happens when one of the other planes break down, and you then take over their trip.
Theres also a planning/scheduling website that shows all confirmed trips on the A/C and sometimes the crewing for the trip is shown, so its possible to know where and when your going for a few weeks in advance, though stuff changes all the time.
If you do get called out the day of, its more of a "when can you get here" than a medivac airborne in 1 hr.
But again a lot of this depends on which aircraft your on.

Re: Any pilot from Chartright here
Whats with the Moscow base?
What aircraft and how often do you get back to Canada?

Re: Any pilot from Chartright here
we have 2 planes based in Moscow for russian clients. The A/C are canadian registered, but whether or not they come to Canada is up to the owner/client.
as far as pay, I dont know, apperently theres been a pay increase to new hires. It all depends on what size airplane (for whatever silly reason they classify the planes into small, medium, and large according to max weight) It used to be 38k, 44k, and 54k.
