Hey,
Relatively low time pilot here. Wondering what kind of time Conair would start hiring guys at? Also what type? I understand that they would want low level, heavy, maybe even float.
I am not in the fire suppresion industry right now, so I am wondering if the time that I am getting, running cargo, will help me out in the long run to get on with Conair.
Thanks
Conair

Re: Conair
Search is your friend: http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopi ... ir#p374206 andhttp://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopi ... it=+Conair Big Pistons Forever is the poster to look for.
Here's a recent post on lifestyle issues:http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopi ... 13&t=41156
And some more on salaries:http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopi ... lit=Conair
The search button is located on the top right of the page, just above the date and time.
Edited to add: Look at what Conair does, and the skillset that they need, and then figure out the path that you need to get there... Low level operations, generally day, vfr, in mountainous terrain, restricted vis, piston engines (admittedly, slowly going to turbine) single pilot.. What do you get? Float time probably helps a great deal, to start, and then a step into the multi world... perhaps working somewhere like NT.Air, bush time etc...
What does your cargo/freight job entail? IFR, tarmac to tarmac? maybe not so good, from a tanker perspective.
Then there's the intangibles... can you work in close quarters with the same people for 3 month stretches without becoming objectionable? Know any good recipies for cooking for 10 people? etc...
Good Luck!
