A couple quick questions...
Just wondering what issues might be discussed with the new pilot agreement in 2009. I heard a rumor the association may ask for a slight increase in the First & Second year FO salary. Is there any truth to this?
Also, is Westjet planning on having an employee travel website? Something similar to Air Canada's where employees can check loads, and list themselves for flights without having to call in?
Thanks in advance!

Re: 2009
We were just solicited by our association to send in via email our wish list. They are now putting together a survey with the most common questions.
I sent in about 6 points, of which number 2 was pay for first and second year increases. RyanCoke can tell you what my number 1 request was

Goooo benefits!!
Just read there is a large survey coming out relating to what we want out of our benefits (early June)--this is separate from the agreement.

You know it!! I have 3 year old girl that will have a thumb in her mouth right to the orthodontist's office and a 1 year old boy with no fear jeans and a death wish....
I'll know Sunlife quite well for the next few years.

The changes to WJ's benefits package will be called something along the lines of Flex-benefits. Your package will be customized based on your (or your families) needs. Want more coverage fo dental and less in optometry? That's your choice. Pay more for mazimum coverage? That's your choice. The details are being worked out and no prices have been set (as the proposals havent even been sent out to insurance companies for a cost analysis). I'm sure the pilot group works out a more beneficial package than everyone else but I'm sure your package will be similar to what the rest of us get in that its customizable.
As for the employee site.. SEAT is available but it isn't doesn't accurately reflect the loads. We've been hearing for years now that we'll eventually be able to book standby online and I hope that day is soon with all the upgrades that we've been doing to our reservation system. Advanced seat selection for a fee, as an aside, is on the way within 2 weeks for our paying customers.
