I thought that those place in Greece where prohibited for floatplane oprations. Like most European contries for instance France, Switzerland and the list goes on. You need a special authorization from the authorities all the time if you wanna land some where with a plane. I know for fact that in North of Europe like in Sweden it's a common thing, but in Greece?
I need more info on that one.

Re: floats in greece??
That’s Middle Eastern. Try Souvlaki or geography.
When I retire, I’ll miss the clowns, not the circus.

Link provided by crosscontrol didn't seem to work.
Are they re-starting ops then? Wikipedia had this to say
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirSea_Lines
This paragraph stood out
In April 2008 it was announced that the airline will be ceasing operations altogether, citing bureaucratic hurdles. The airline affirmed that it was impaired by incoherent regulations between the Civil Aviation Authority (which regulates civil aviation) and the Merchant Marine Ministry (which regulates commercial shipping). The airline blames slow bureaucratic procedures that did not resolve this problem in time, rendering AirSea Lines a loss-making venture"
It sounds great but I'm betting that Greece is still an organizational circus similar to what I saw in Sicily a few years back. Then there is Eurocontrol. Once you are airborne it generally works out but I have sat on the ramp in Sigonella for up to an hour waiting for the clearance to start engines. Now if zee Chermans vere running it Ja?

^They tried that already. I believe that they were told to leave Greece in 1944.
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?
