Lots of threads on these guys if you do a search... but the consensus is that the charter side is the hook and you better enjoy instructing.

Re: EVAS Charter / GFT Aerospace
Lately it seems that it isn't as long as it used to be to make the transition. But you'll have to prove yourself a good instructor first of course. You'll be busy with lots of students these days too. any other questions?
Re: EVAS Charter / GFT Aerospace
Yah because everyone knows you could never fly IFR charter if you weren't a good instructor.

Re: EVAS Charter / GFT Aerospace
Well endless you completly missed the point... it has nothing to do with skills as it does with work ethics. They're not gonna take the slackest of them all and promote them. I guess you just saw an opportunity to seem like a smart ass and took it. Don't waste this guys time when he's trying to get a little info.Yah because everyone knows you could never fly IFR charter if you weren't a good instructor.
Re: EVAS Charter / GFT Aerospace
With the industry going for an absolute dog shit I hope the guys starting now wake up in the middle of the night with a boner dreaming of precautionary landings, because there's not gonna be a whole lot of movement upwards.

I know what you're trying to say. I used to work at a flying school where your worthiness for a promotion to Multi-IFR instructing was based on how good you were as a dispatcher. Apparently if you could make bookings, give students pre-flight briefings, run out and fuel airplanes, take customer payments and shuttle students to and from their homes all at the very same time, and completely by yourself, then you showed good judgement. Of course, that was very subjective as well. If it appeared that you were getting frustrated at times then... well... hehehehe... you didn't show good judgement.
