Re: Price for a Medical?
Last year it was $60 at the walk-in clinic I use but it is now up to $80.
Because I had a mild heart attack about 10 years ago, I have to do an annual treadmill stress test which was always covered under the provincial health care but in January, they changed the rules and it now cost me $100 for the test plus the $80

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Mad Flying Ace, rather than a business relationship why not tell your doctor you love him and then he may shaft you for free?price has gone up! Now being shafted for $140.00 -

Re: Price for a Medical?
It's amazing how much the price can vary. It's doctor specific. It doesn't hurt to shop around a bit.

The first one has a poll that shows the prices can differ quite a bit.

Re: Price for a Medical?
$100 seems to be the going rate in the Toronto area. The ECG, depending on the doc, may or may not be extra or covered by the provincial plan.
In Northern Ontario you still pay around $80.
Shop around, each doctor charges what he/she feels the physical is worth or the pilots will cough up before going elsewhere.
Oh, and don't forget the $55 junk fee you will get from TC for filing one page of paperwork....

Re: Price for a Medical?
I think Dr. Sawkiw in YSB charged over $100 last time I was there (2000), and Dr. Kuntz in YAM charged $120 I think. My last four medicals with Dr. Lower in YQT have cost anywhere from $0-$40 (He tried to give me another freebie last year but I insisted on paying him, as my last company was picking up the tab).

It's been a couple of years but Dr. Ganon in Sarnia (YZR) was $75 (2006). Might be worth the drive if KW and area is $200.

Re: Price for a Medical?
Commercial Pilots license - $30 000
Licensing Fee - $105
Cat one medical - $120
Medical Licensing Fee - $55
Nav Canada Fee - $30?
Getting that first job to make less than a guy at McDonalds . . . priceless.
At least that check in the mail from the new Carbon Tax will cover most of my medical

Re: Price for a Medical?
Im going to see him today. I was told to bring $135 cash. Last year it was about $130 I think, cash only. Nice guy though and very friendly. He hasnt asked to play with my twig and berries yet, so Im happy to go back to him.Snowgoose wrote:It's been a couple of years but Dr. Ganon in Sarnia (YZR) was $75 (2006). CYQT - FREE every year from you know who. Great guy, realizes we're all poor and won't make you pay if you don't have it.
Re: Price for a Medical?
Dr. Cenaiko, Wakaw SK (just outside of Saskatoon) $25.00. ECG $10.00. He is also a recipient of the Order of Canada for 50 plus years of medical service to a small Saskatchewan rural community.

Re: Price for a Medical?
I got the 55 slut fee when I upgraded from cat3 to cat1. So I needed a new paper. If I simply renew and get the stamp does the 55 fee still apply? (from my understanding TC would have no paperwork to do)
