I do love Winnipeg, I spent the last few years of my life there and I miss it but they need to wake up and realize they have a genuine problem. It isn't "Friendly Manitoba" and the longer they keep their delusions of being a friendly little town disguised as a big city the longer they will keep turning a blind eye to the crime that plagues the city. I searched the Winnipeg Free Press website today and they're not even talking about these new stats released by Stats Canada.

While they're at it, they could also stop telling me how dangerous my hometown of Toronto is. After all we're actually the safest city on the list.

That's Toronto's fault, not Winnipeg's. If people in T.O. would stop making it sound as if the worst gang war in history were going on there, with more gun crime and murders than anywhere else, nobody else would think that either.

I agree with Grimey, but I think a lot af crime in TO goes unreported due to the huge ethenic population; some of which do not trust the cops.The gun crimes are always re reported as per Commandant Millar.

I especially like the drunk people on the downtown corners in Winnipeg telling you to go "#@*&" yourself. That was a personal tourist highlight of mine. At least in Toronto they just hold signs.
