Human Factors
Does anyone know of any online training sites for human factors?
I don't think my old one is any good anymore.
Thanks.

Re: Human Factors
Human factors course is good for a max of 3 years. Check out the CAMC site.
http://www.camc.ca/en/32
or check out camc.ca
they have a recurrent exam online that you can take on the computer. Cost is around 50.00 pay by card.
If you want the full monte check out

Re: Human Factors
I have been looking for Human factors currency requirements and found nothing in the CARS. I know there are recency requirements for training every three years and initial human factors training requirements. But where does it state recency requirements for human factors?

Re: Human Factors
I notice that they pulled AN B-058 the original introduction of human factors requirements and training. It had a fair amount of info in it.

Re: Human Factors
Maybe I am interpreting this wrong, but from what I read:
The recurrent training requirements in CARS only state that that training is required every 3 years, and it will include technical, regulatory and human factors training. However this time the training can be done in house, (an approved course is not required a second time)and only when the quality program presents the need. Anyone agree?

That's what we are doing.
Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?
Re: Human Factors
not really, spinner stated that human factors course is only good for 3 years. Several other people have told me the same thing, but that is not how it's read in the CARS.

Re: Human Factors
The way our company works is everyone is required to have the initial training on human factors by an approved course. Then every two years have inhouse recurrent training, usually just a two page sheet reminding us that the way we do things is contrary to what the human factors ideology is all about.
How can you tell which one is the pilot when you walk into a bar?....Don't worry he will come up and tell you.

Standard 573.06
(1) Pursuant to subsection 573.06(1) of the CARs, an AMO certificate holder shall ensure that all staff with technical responsibilities are provided appropriate training in technical, regulatory and human factors issues related to the work for which they are responsible.
(5) Until such time as it is revised through an assessment made in respect of the quality assurance program required by section 573.09 of the CARs, the initial cycle for update training shall not exceed three years.
this is where I get the three years from.

Re: Human Factors
correct, update training is required every three years but it does not mean your initial human factors training has expired. Update trainng may or may not include human factors training, depending if the QA department deems it necessary through their audits.
