Hi I have a telex 5X5 Pro III Headset and would like to get a molded ear piece so I can get rid of the headband and the plastic ear pieces that come with it. Can anyone reccomend a shop in the YVR area that could do this.
Cheers

Re: Molded Ear Peices YVR
No idea really, but just wanted to say....
Ooooh, fancy! Headset getting too heavy or '27 getting too loud?
Ok, actually, I do have an idea...or 2.
Found this at http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/telex.htm
Headsets
5x5 Pro III 5x5 Pro III, Aviation Headset
Custom Ear Mold (for above)
The MS50 can be worn using the headband or clipping it to their glasses or using a custom ear mold. Custom earmolds are popular because the offer the best comfort and are not very expensive. You can get a custom earmold from a local "dispenser" for about $75. The molds are made by Westone Laboratories, Inc. You will want to order earmold style #19. You can find a local dispenser using the Westone web site here:

A quick check at
http://www.westone.com/index.php?load=c ... age_id=147
shows a whack of places in the Vancouver area that could do them for you.
Failing that, I'm pretty sure any audiologist can do them for you, but price will likely be an issue at that point.
Hope that helps!

Re: Molded Ear Peices YVR
Apointment made for tommorow with Custom ear protectors in Surrey, these guys still had me on file from 2000 when I had ear plugs made up for when I was a lowly ramp rat.
Thanks for the help, I had forgotten there name.
