FAA CPL conversion questions
Hey Guys, this is my first posting. Wondering if anyone can help me out. I see that in order to obtain an FAA CPL I will need to write a 20 question exam encompassing various aspects of the CPL. Can anyone offer suggestions on where I can find a study manual or insight to the exam?

This is who I recommend. They have a good product that will let you experience what the CBT will be like when you write in the US.

Good luck.

Here is what you need:
http://www.gleim.com/products/productde ... proID=6118
Covers the exact question bank that you will be tested on.
I did the Gleim online course for the FAA ATP conversion, took about 15 minutes to write the exam at the flight school, got over 90% without much effort.

I can vouch for Ralliart's comments. Used Gleims. Wrote the ATP exam. In and out in 12 minutes with 93%
Re: FAA CPL conversion questions
After you finish the process and you go to the FSDO to get your license in hand, make sure they don't add any seaplane or flight instructor ratings to your converted license because the new conversion process is not intended for those ratings.
The inspector at the FSDO I went to wasn't sure and just added the seaplane rating from my TC license to my FAA ATP. I was issued an interim license good for 120 days until the hard copy arrived in the mail from the main FAA office in Oklahoma. Turns out the initial application was rejected by the FAA main office because of the administrative error of adding the seaplane rating, so the FSDO had to re-issue me another interim license without seaplane on it, and submit a new request to the FAA main office for my proper ATP.
Not a big deal, the hard copy still arrived before 120 days but just a heads up it was delayed. I was the first candidate to do the TC -> FAA conversion at this particular FSDO quite a ways south of the border, so they were learning.

Re: FAA CPL conversion questions
I'm scheduled to write this test next weekend but am unsure of what its on. Just basic air law is that right? how long does it take to finally get results and whats a pass mark for this conversion test for CPL. I have a group 1 rating too is there a separate test for that? the people at the FSDO seemed to have no idea and were not very helpful.
Re: FAA CPL conversion questions
Guys, I did some research by talking to a buddy and taking a look at the FAA website
http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificate ... ification/
What do you make of this? there is no mention of a 20 question knowledge based exam.
A buddy informed me that the CPL is now issued TC for FAA...straight up pending authentication of TC CPL by the FAA and the medical. HELP!

Re: FAA CPL conversion questions
Yup you have to do the foreign license verification first. Then write the exam, do a medical and go to your favorite FSDO.
The foreign license verification will take about 7-15 days.
I studied for the CPL + Instrument rating conversion with http://www.dauntless-soft.com/products/ ... ercial.asp
just like Gleims books, it's the actual FAA questions, and it updates itself so you can be assured that it's valid. Studied for 2 days, then wrote both exams in under 20 minutes with 98% on both.

Do you live in a cardboard box?
Rule books are paper - they will not cushion a sudden meeting of stone and metal.

Re: FAA CPL conversion questions
for those of you who have converted your TC licence to FAA how long did it take to finally get your perminant licence?
Re: FAA CPL conversion questions
After the proper application was sent to the FAA in Oklahoma, it took a few weeks to receive my permanent license in the mail.
You can go to the Airmen database and enter your personal information to see if you are in the system yet. If your license info shows up online, expect it in the mail in a few days.
