Get the ATPL books. It's a tough exam, they take all the ATPL materiel and only ask a few questions about it. Study up!

I just wrote the INRAT three weeks ago. I have 3000 hrs of IFR, but have not flown for 4 years. I took the Aerocourse and went to write the exam two days later. There course is set up to teach you everything you need and there textbook was a big help.

The Inrat...not the Iatra!

The instrument aerocourse book is extremely usefull...complete it & you should pass the test. The . textbook was ok, but it doesn't go into much.

If you use the Aerocourse workbook without taking the actual course, it doesnt give you the references to text books in the workbook. However, if you go to the aerocourse website, there is a link to the references to each question. But I would still recomend you take the course. It gets you ready to write the test as well as practical information for IFR flying. I took the course and wrote the next day. Passed with a pretty decent mark. Do some pre study before taking the course. It does go through quite a bit of info in a short period.

I just wrote the inrat and i passed with an 80%, it wasn't an easy exam thats for sure.....Aerocourse helped....but don't be fooled by others when they say take the course and go write several days after.its too much info at once.....if they do that trust me its not their first time taking the test.....its a 75% first time fail rate..as per TCS Website and the aldy at the counter...you know pilots you are one, we never admit failure......so go at your pace...if you had no prior serious IFR training i recommend you find a partner from your class.study study...and aim to write in 2 weeks......know the AIM very well and if you can honestly ace the aerocourse questions without cheating you'll pass

Know the AIM, get the aerocourse workbook (i never took the course and got the text but just the test book VIP pilot shop or your flight school should have a copy) finish the book and know it inside out. It will be hard but study hard and you'll be fine.
