sexiest airplane ever built?
what is the most asthetically pleasing aircraft you have ever seen? My vote goes to the grumman tiger cat. gotta love a sleek fuselage and two massive radials.

I'm sick of looking at 18's myself. imo, in terms of jets the f-14 kills the hornet! but im a sucker for ww2 era radials.

The title is sexiest airplane...not your favourite airplane and to call the Beech 18 and DC-3 sexy.
Well, let's just say your choice of women must be something else.

I second the Mustang...

I'm a sucker for the ruskie machines. Raw power! I think it's the fastest turbo prop out there.

If you don't think this is sexy, you are probably gay (not that there is anything wrong with that):

I gotta say, that is pretty f**kin' sexy...

Whoever voted for DC-3 will have to put in my place as well. And no, I'm not gay.... not that there's anything wrong with that.

Re: sexiest airplane ever built?
For me, its always been the Spitfire.
My grandmother passed away about 10 years ago. In her things left with my name on it was a plastic Spitfire I had "built" when I was 5 years old. It's roundels were painted on with nail polish, my fingerprints were left in glue on the canopy, landing gear and prop blades broken off, and one stabilizer was missing. That shows how long I've been interested in that aircraft. It was built over 5 decades ago.
The Spitfire has the beautiful eliptical all metal wing, the Rolls Royce nameplate on the fabulous Merlin engine later followed by the Griffin, the place & time in history, the young men who flew them in the Battle of Britain especially, the breakthrough in performance compared to its design contemporaries, sheer number of aircraft produced, evolution of the design up to the Mark 24 and all manner of sub-variants, missions flown in combat and photo recce, low and high altitude capabilities which were enhanced by the engineers, ... well, golly gee whiz ... there are just too many things to list, I get all misty-eyed and can't read the monitor to type any more .. LOL.
One thing which always comes to mind with the Spit is the sound of the engine on a low pass, man oh man ... it just can't be beaten!
To further make my point, take a look at some of these videos and make certain you turn the volume waaayyy up and prepare to rumble!

About 20 years ago, I was lucky enough to sit in the Spitfire on display at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. What a treat.
