I really need help!

I am trying to do my Flight Instructors rating.I don't have fund for the expense. Don't want to take bank loan either. I have a TC ATPL.

As per PilotCareerCenter, we can get Student Loan and Bursaries from Provincial or Federal level.

For last couple of months, I checked many Flight schools and also called OSAP, but none could give me any clue on this Student Loan process, or which Flight schools are assessed as 'Training Institute'. I am not sure whether this can at all be done.

I know for sure that it is possible to get EI funds for Flight Instructors training but not sure about Student Loan.

I will be ever grateful if anyone could give me some clue or guidelines on this issue. Is it at all possible to get Student Loan for Flight Instructor training?

contact the schools you are looking at. the finance officer (or whatever the particular school calls them) will have the info you need.

You can apply for funds through student aid BC. They offer funding based on a full time study period of 13 weeks. Your flying club has to be a registered private post secondary institution, however.

HOWEVER - here is the problem I have.

You can't get as much funding as everyone else is allowed. For some reason, a pilot's "maximum life limit" is around 20 grand. So if you already have student loans up to that amount - no dice.

However, it appears you can appeal this. I'm not sure if it would get you anywhere, but there is a form (and you have to write a letter, etc)

See, what I don't understand is how come an English Major gets 50 grand, and we get 20. So... I guess the demand for english proffs is higher than the demand for airline pilots? Oh wait, maybe it's because their tuition is really expensive (HA!)

I know you can get EI in Ontario to pay for a good portion of an instructor (or other) rating, but I believe you have to have been laid off first. Since EI will pay for job training to help you be more competitive in the industry, as a pilot you can use it for ratings. However, I am still fuzzy on the details of the process.
