That YYB is treacherous, isn't it.
Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things you did do.

Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
i couldn't find anything in CADORS yet
Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
If they just "explored" the side lines without getting stuck, there may not be a CADORS on the incident. Because it's a "non event". I find the whole CADORS thing a bit like CRIME BUSTERS?mattedfred wrote:i couldn't find anything in CADORS yet
Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
I'd check throughout the day Monday. I believe that the "data-entry" folks in the CADORS shop are M-F, 9-5 types.mattedfred wrote:i couldn't find anything in CADORS yet
Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
PAFG asked:
Those long runways at North Bay ARE a hazard. The problem originates with them Dash-8 drivers who are used to landing on 31 at Coppermine, and turning off at the taxiway: they get confused as to which part of YYB 26 to land on.

I believe it was an RJ (thats what the ground guy told me, I didnt even know they had RJ's) and they were quite a way off the runway.

Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
I guess that's what 10 000$ worth of training teaches you : how to skid off a 10 000' runway

Jeeze,
At a dollar a foot, you may want to choose a shorter runway?

Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
Priceless...
It's not pro-rated though...so even if you slide off a 6000 foot-er, you're still paying a dollar a foot to 10,000.

Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
No, no, no...
If you spend $10,000 in training costs, you can practice on 2 runways - 5000' each. If you fail to fail the first time, you get a second chance to fail again.

I am SO staying away from this one.....
Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
I like to point out Voyageur's extreme safetly record. They don't break minimums or stop on runways.

Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
It's 15,000 dollars to train on the RJ or Dash's... just so you guys know.
Now you have to re-evaluate the cost per foot of training.

Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
Is there some sort of " sliding " scale to compute the cost of where you depart the runway based on how much of the runway you use before you run out of ideas and depart it?
If you land short do you still get penalized?

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

It was a beauty, cube:
Or did you mean: "They don't brake for Mums, or stop for runaways"?
I hope they all got it....I like to point out Voyageur's extreme safety record. They don't break minimums or stop on runways.

Re: Voyager off the runway in YYB?
Is it true that Voyageur make the pilots buy their own charts and approach plates?
and that they only pay captains on a Kingair 100 42K a year?
pay peanuts and you get Monkeys!!!!
I have heard that they are not getting many applicants accepting jobs. a pay increase may be needed to attract more applicants and a stop to making crews pay for charts and approach plates.

Shhh! Don't tell WJ, they'll probably implement that to save $$ (and lower the bar) too!
