Air Canada News:

Hot off the press – Air Canada garners great reviews. Influential U.S. magazine, Business 2.0, has selected Air Canada as a model of success for the airline industry in its annual cover feature, “The 2005 Smart List” that singles out 25 corporations for “the brightest minds in business and the miraculous feats they've accomplished.” The FORTUNE-Time Inc. magazine – with more than half a million readers billed as "the next generation of business leaders" – is dedicated to reporting on innovation in a constantly evolving business environment. In its current issue, it points out that while “plenty of traditional-airline execs talk about emulating Southwest and JetBlue, only one has transformed his company into a true low-cost operation: Air Canada's chairman Robert Milton.” Air Canada is saluted for having achieved significant cost reductions, new labour and supplier agreements and changed its business model with simplified fares in a post 9-11 world. Air Canada's successes have attracted attention elsewhere south of the border this month as well: Our Delhi and Hong Kong services from Toronto are singled out for their convenience to U.S. residents in National Geographic Traveler, the world's most read travel magazine, “Smart Traveler: Small World After All.” And Global Traveler magazine, whose readers chose Air Canada as the Best Airline in Canada for the magazine's annual “GT Tested Awards” survey, features an interview with Montie Brewer, “Flying Higher Now,” in which Montie discusses Air Canada's industry leading role in simplifying fares and the new way we do business to meet customers' needs.
