Another kick in teeth

425/week! Pick me, pick me!
I emailed them and said they should be ashamed. I suggest some others do the same.

Lodging wasn't included a few years back, so I guess it's getting better
It's a birdog job by the way. Quite fun but a bit underpaid

Birddog, or Fire Patrol? Large difference. Anyone who takes on the risk/responsibility of 'dogging for $425 a week, lodging or not, should be pi$$ed on.

Like I said, it's a birdog job. No lead in's, just circling around the fire at 1500' agl or so. Charters are also part of the job.

It doesn't matter what it's for.
Unless it's for one or two days a week, the pay is WAY WAY WAY TOO LOW even for an entry level job if not for something with the qualifications they seek.

Wow, that's just sad.
I made almost double that amount a week (room and board provided as well) with my first gig on a 185'. That almost 4 years ago!!!

this is ridiculous. why are people even accepting these sketchy jobs with such ridiculous pay?!?! yes yes. . . 'there is always someone else who will always do your job for less than you' . . this is absurd. are we not trained professionals? is there not quite a high risk with flying which we should be compensated for? with the economy / hiring / and industry movement slowing down should we not be expecting a little more as we might be in the same position for a couple years before we ever move up? it appears as though 1500tt is the new 500. yes, ts for the love of flying but surviving when your not flying is a right we should not have to sacrifice.

Sure they are, they just don't get paid much because the joy of being a professional pilot is reward enough.
