When it’s the right moment (if there is) to do a road trip, I’m thinking maybe next week, but I’m not sure if I should wait a little more.
Sorry if the question may sound stupid, never done this before.
Thanks

I did my roadtrip nearly 4 years ago to the day, and the industry is a lot like it is now. I crossed Canada with about 900 hrs TT, and landed a job dispatching until a spot on the flight line opened up. It took about a month and a half, but by the end of it all, I had 3 offers. Go now, go remote, and go fast. Even if you have to work the ground for a bit, get your foot in the door. When the gates open again, things will move fast, and you'll find yourself flying again in no time.

Thanks guys for your tips, the reason why I wasn’t sure it’s because nobody it’s hiring right now, unless is what everybody told me on the phone.

I have just come back from a road trip : ON, MB, SK, and AB.

well during those past two weeks the moto has been the same. " We are not hiring right now, plus the economic situation makes things slower, but if we needed people it would not be before April "

Although, I had these kind of answers, most of people took time to look at my resume, gave me some advice etc
By the way, I am still a low timer having 640 TT, current MIFR, float rating ,Iatra and it seems that even for job on the ground, a lot of high timer apply, so the competition is definitely here this year.

Bottom line is :

It's not useless doing a road trip but you have to be aware that you will not get a job right away, but making or reactivating prior contacts doesn't hurt.

My 2 cents

Chris

I'm heading out to NW Ontario ( Red Lake, not Barrie! ) from Vancouver right around May 1st...if anyone is planning a road trip, PM me if you have a spare seat.

I got a Coleman stove, a couple hundred towards fuel and enough BS to keep you awake till SK!

It's Ursus, they are not based in YZF but rather ZFN (Tulita), and if you would like some study material:
