Walsten Air Service
I'm very interested in the company and Kenora is a place that I would love to live. I heard that Hicks and Lawrence owns this company now. Do I apply with Walsten directly or do I send a resume to Hicks?
Re: Walsten Air Service
You apply directly to Walsten. The info at http://www.pilotcareercentre.com/JobRes ... lineID=241 looks to be correct. Good luck
Re: Walsten Air Service
Hicks may be hiring for the 337's. Fire patrol. That would be about it though.
If you're interested in living in Kenora, might try River Air, or Kenora Air. Float operations.
Good luck....great place in the summer.

If I wasn't working where I am, I would be at Walstens. I've been waiting 20 years for 2 more captains to die, but they keep hanging on. It's motorcycle season shortly, so I may finally have a shot at Doc's position.

So you get on at Walstens, then a bunch of First officer positions open up. Get your resumes in!

Anyway, if you are looking for work, you couldn't go wrong with putting a season in at Hicks and Lawrence which would give you a good "in" should JC get on there and all of the First Officers quit.

I did the majority of my AME apprenticeship at Walsten's (worked there for nigh on 4 years)... and I can tell you they are a great bunch of guys. Decent place to work. Good luck to you.. If you do get on there, The fishing on Lake of the Woods is pretty good!!
Re: Walsten Air Service
I too did my apprenti time there. Almost 5 years there. Great place to learn and live. My only issue is I wanted to try living in other places and seeing more. So my next 5 years I spent on the red and white twins....
Ah life is good.

Walstens was the best stop I had on my travels through aviation. Lots of fond memories ... I even flew with Doc once or twice...."in the ninety". Hey in QNJ still painted that oh so lovely 70's era blue?
Cheers

Yup, still looks exactly the same as it did when the Ontario gov had it.

Oh dear God!!!! Memories of the Dock coming back to haunt me!!! I left the majority of my liver there. It didn't help that my appartment was literally crawling distance from the office. Annybody else have the pleasure of sleeping on the couch in the back room of the dock office?
