What is your most inspirational flying song?
What elates you in the cockpit or on the ground for that matter?
I like Early Morning Rain by Gordon Lightfoot. Speaks volumes to me within my job.

Sometimes when I'm firing up my John Deere I hear John Denver in my head. Ususally happens when I'm really hungover and it's usually Annie's Song

well, well I am surprised that no one has put down the classic from top gun yet, danger zone...
I would say that my favorite to get me in a good mood before the flight is shot through the heart-bon jovi

Masons Apron - Mudmen
Paint it Black - Rolling Stones
Wooly Bully - Sam Sham and the Pharoes
Keep Hope Alive - Crystal Method
These are my favorites for down low on the river
For everything else you need:
Come Fly With Me - Frank Sinatra
Aces High - Iron Maiden
Flight of Icarus - Iron Maiden
Ride of the Valkiries - Wagner
Could've Been a Lady - April Wine
This Flight Tonight - Nazareth
Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith
I could go on, for a long time, but those are the main ones, along with Danger Zone of course.
For driving the John Deere you need She Thinks my Tractor's Sexy, by Kenny Chesney, I have that one for hay season when I'm driving the old MF-135

For when I am heading into the office(read orifice) before work I think that "Whipping Post" by the Allman Brothers is a fitting tune. But when I step into my 'real office', a few come to mind; Blue sky by the Allmans, Cold Shot by Stevie Ray Vaughn and Voodoo Chile by Hendrix. Cheers!!

Evermore - The Irish Rovers
Way out in London airport in hangar number four
A lonely little biplane lived whose name was Evermore
His working days were over no more would he sail
Upon his wings above the clouds flying the royal mail
CHORUS
Bye bye biplane once upon a sky plane
Bye bye hushabye lullabye plane
All the mighty jet planes would look down their nose
They'd laugh and say oh I'm so glad that I'm not one of those
And Evermore would shake away the teardrops from his wings
And dream of days when he again could do heroic things
CHORUS
Then one day the fog and rain had closed the airport down
And all the mighty jet planes were helpless on the ground
When a call came to the airport for a mercy flight
'twould be too late, they could not wait, someone must fly tonight
Ah they rolled the little biplane out to runway number five
And though he looked so small and weak he knew he could survive
And as he rose into the storm the big jets hung their wings
And they hoped someday like Evermore to do heroic things
And so my baby bundle I have spun a tale for you
You must learn there's nothing in this world that you can't do
Do not be discouraged by circumstance and size
Remember Evermore and set your sights upon the skies

Then there's this goodie...
Johnny Come Lately - Steve Earle
My P-47 is a pretty good ship
And she took a round comin' cross the channel last trip
I was thinkin' 'bout my baby and letting her rip
Always got me through so far
Well they can ship me all over this great big world
But I'll never find nothing like my North End girl
I'm taking her home with me one day, sir
Soon as we win this war
