How can they know for sure ?

Post by KIAS »

Corporation: EL AL Israel Airlines Ltd.
Date: 2003/08/12
Count(s): 1
Violation: CAR 602.105
Penalty: $5 000
Location: Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Toronto, Ont.

The Company failed to conform with departure noise abatement procedures/noise control requirements specified in the Canada Flight Supplement or Canada Air Pilot.
From: http://www.tc.gc.ca/civilaviation/RegSe ... /aug04.htm

How can they know if a crew failed to conform to the specified Noise Abatement Procedure ?

Do they use radar tapes ? Microphones or sensors on the ground ? Review the Flight Data Recorder ?

Just wondering if someone here knows what the method is...

I THINK there is a series of ground based db sensors/recorders used in conjunction with radar tracks.
