Flight club/rentals in Vancouver?
Going out to Vancouver in a couple weeks for a business trip, and wondering if its feasible to rent a 172 from a local flight club for some sightseeing while out there?
Anyone know of any good local clubs where i can inquire about this? I'm assuming they'd require some sort of circuit check prior to solo rental, but any details anyone has are appreciated.
Thanks

I think your best bet will be found at Boundary Bay (ZBB). There is a club, as well as several other training facilities that would likely rent out an A/C. I'd imagine a mountain checkout would be assessed at the bottom of the bill too if that were the direction you were going... cha! ching!

If renting is all you're interested in at Cbb, I would look at either Canadian Flight Centre, or Pro IFR. These are the only two on the field that will have reasonable checkout rules. IE. if you've flown the type recently, either only a circuit check or no check out will be required.

Husky: I used to instruct part time at CFC and still when I wanted to rent an aircraft, I had to do a dual check out with a junior instructor! And PRO is no different.
Re: Flight club/rentals in Vancouver?
What husky is writing is that at the places mentioned they are permitted to use common sense whereas one of the other places is loaded with regulation and you'll be in for a two hour checkout (valid only six months regardless of how many hours you fly there).

You should check Langley Flying School !
Great people with a lot of common sense....

Check out Skyquest Aviation. I did some training there and they are a really good company.

Langley flying school is great. Less likely to have as many rules just for the sake of having rules. Plus CYNJ is closer to the mountains and less busy when compared to boundary bay.
