Garmin 296 Maps

Post by AntiNakedMan »

Hi,

I have a Garmin 296, and was wondering if anyone knows of a different/better map program for the moving map display. I attempted a google search but came up short.

Thanks,

Anti

TOPO Canada. I don't know if the 296 can display the DEM (Digital Elevation Model) in the latest version, but even the old version was very nice, with accurate depiction of every shoreline and river, though some islands are missing. It is a vast improvement on the basemap the 296 is shipped with. You can buy the maps installed on a Garmin card, or buy a blank card and load whatever areas you like. You can preview what the map will look like in the "View Map" tab of the above link.
