Looking for insight into how they treat their employees and both the operation and management beyond what is posted on their website.

Yeah PM...Nice. Don't want to share with the class?

Here is some info. Lars and Diane are super nice people. I haven't worked for them but they have helped me in the past. Unfortunately they are being screwed over by this Olympic crap and might not be around much longer.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Good folks, good family owned/operated company happy employees, all fighting the good fight against all the bureaucratic dip shits that make it so hard to make a honest living in aviation on the west coast. Pay is Navajo pay, but life style is pretty relaxed. Flights are a lot of 20min hops back and forth to YVR.

I should also add, as it is usually desired info in this sort of topic. They're not hiring right now especially amidst all the Olympic crap. During hiring 1500TT and 500Multi IFR experience was posted if I recall correctly as they are single pilot IFR.

Good company, nothing negative to say, but the PPC training can be tough for some people.

What makes it tougher than any other single pilot PPC? Or are you just referring to the fact that doing a PPC single pilot is generally more difficult than your normal 2 pilot PPC?

FWIW, haven't heard anything negative about these folks, and they seem like a decent outfit.

I have flown on their aircraft numerous times and at all times was impressed. I have chatted with Lars and his wife many times and they are good hard working people. It is unfortunate they are getting screwed around because of the olympics. I hope they reconsider selling the operation and things turn around for the better.

With al the bizzillions that are being spent on the Olympics ,why is an honest operator being made to suffer financially ?
Out of all the money being spent on a sporting events ,why no compensation for an honest company that has an excellent safety record.Through no fault of there own they are being made to suffer for the political decisions of the olympic commitee.
A long history of operating with integrity should be worth something in any court, even if it is only the court of public opinion?

If it was me that was being screwed over like that by the Olympics authorities and it was going to cost me my business I would just fly the God dammed sched and let them see what they wanted to do.

It would make for interesting media stuff.

Does anyone here think they would taser me after I landed?

Are they being ground during the Olympics? I heard (from a VANOC person) that wasn't the case.

Technically no, they are not being shut down - just being forced to fly to Nanaimo or Victoria for passenger and baggage screening prior to landing in Vancouver. Quite obviously no passenger is going to do that when they can drive to Nanaimo and go from there.

Like a VANOC apparatchnik would admit to any negative impact.

They are not being grounded, but to go get screened before going to YVR from Qualicum, is not economically feasible for them (or anyone else for that matter).
